3 quick eliminations just took place, bringing the field down to 17 runners.

Samantha Cohen was left with less than 10 big blinds when she moved in her final chips in an unopened pot, and her bet was isolated by Ema Zajmovic in the small blind.

Samantha: King of Hearts 8 of Diamonds
Ema: 10 of Clubs 10 of Hearts

Ema flopped a set on the Ace of Spades 5 of Diamonds 10 of Spades King of Diamonds Queen of Spades board to eliminate Samantha in 20th place.

In almost the same time as this, there was a 3-way all-in on table 28 that lead to the eliminations of Mike Leah and David Thompson.

David, who was recently crippled by Nektarios Papadedes, moved in from under the gun. After Kliment Tarmako made the call, Mike Leah raised all-in to isolate from the cutoff. Upeshka De Silva the re-raised all-in over the top, forcing Kliment out of the hand.

David: Queen of Diamonds Jack of Diamonds
Mike: Ace of Hearts Jack of Hearts
Upeshka: Ace of Spades Queen of Hearts

The 9 of Spades 5 of Spades 4 of Hearts 8 of Clubs 2 of Diamonds board was no help to anyone, and Upeshka scooped the massive pot while reducing the field by 2 players.

When action folded around to Adam Cader in the small blind, he moved in with his remaining 10 big blinds. Kauvsegan Eham, who was also on the shorter end of the leaderboard, decided to take his chances and made the call from the big blind.

Adam: 5 of Hearts 5 of Diamonds
Kauvsegan: Queen of Diamonds 9 of Diamonds

Kauvsegan smashed the 10 of Hearts Queen of Spades 9 of Hearts Queen of Hearts 8 of Hearts board to eliminate his neighbour and bring the field down to an even 20.

David Guay and Sorel Mizzi just built a nearly 2 million chip pot pre-flop in what one can only describe as a cooler. David was all-in and at risk in the hand, holding Ace of Hearts Ace of Clubs, and was up against Sorel’s King of Spades King of Hearts. With no change on the 10 of Diamonds 7 of Hearts 5 of Clubs 5 of Hearts 4 of Hearts board, the massive pot was shipped towards David.

Even after losing nearly 1 million chips, Sorel remains above average stack with well over 2 million chips in front of him.

Amir Babakhani delivered two big hits to Quentin Siffledeen, ending his Main Event in 22nd place for $30,500.

In the first hand, Amir moved in from the small blind for around 500,000 and found the call from Quentin in the big blind. Amir tabled Ace of Spades King of Clubs and found the double-up through Ace of Hearts 6 of Clubs on a 10 of Clubs 2 of Diamonds 9 of Diamonds 2 of Spades 3 of Clubs board.

A few hands later the two clashed in a hand preflop leading to Quentin’s elimination. This time Amir was holding Queen of Clubs Queen of Hearts, and his pair held for the win versus King of Clubs Queen of Spades on a 2 of Spades 3 of Diamonds 6 of Hearts 7 of Clubs 8 of Spades board.

Jared Griener just made his exit from the WPT Montreal Main Event after running his Ace of Hearts Queen of Diamonds into the Ace of Spades King of Hearts of Sorel Mizzi pre-flop. Once the King of Clubs King of Spades 10 of Hearts 7 of Clubs 6 of Diamonds board was drawn out, Jared congratulated everyone at the table and went to the cashiers to collect his $30,500 prize.
