Ruben Perceval was just eliminated from the WPT Montreal Main Event in 26th place, adding another deep run to his growing resume.

In his final hand of play, he 3-bet his remaining 210,000 after Upeshka opened from middle position. Ruben tabled Ace of Diamonds 5 of Diamonds and was the slight favourite over Upeshka’s Jack of Clubs 9 of Clubs. Both players connected on the 9 of Hearts Ace of Clubs 6 of Clubs flop, with Upeshka improving to a flush on the 5 of Clubs turn. Ruben wasn’t able to spike a river boat as a 9 of Spades was dealt to complete the board, and he took a walk over to the tournament desk to collect his receipt worth $26,000.

Gil Levy was riding a short stack since the start of the day, but managed to survive through 100 eliminations and make the final 5 tables. With around 200,000 left he got his chips into the middle from late position against David Guay in the big blind.

Gil: Ace of Clubs 10 of Hearts
David: Queen of Hearts Queen of Spades

Board: 9 of Spades 7 of Hearts Queen of Diamonds Ace of Hearts 6 of Hearts

Gil caught too little too late on the board and was eliminated in 30th place for a $26,000 payout.

Lawrence Ma opened to 45,000 from the hijack position, and Ema flat called from the cutoff before Mike Leah raised the action to 175,000 from the small blind. Lawrence got out of the way, and Ema made the call.

Both players checked on the 4 of Diamonds 5 of Spades 6 of Spades flop, and Mike checked again when the Ace of Diamonds peeled on the turn. Ema slid forward a bet of 210,000, and Mike obliged. When the river brought the 3 of Spades, Mike checked for a third time, and Ema went into the tank. She then looked up at the dealer and announced her all-in for 765,000, a bet that was quickly called by Mike.

Ema tabled King of Spades Jack of Spades for a flush, besting her opponent’s straight with 7 of Diamonds 7 of Spades. With that pot she took over the tournament chip lead, now playing a stack of 2,385,000 chips. Mike Leah still has a little over a million after the hand, but has ceded his reign over to Ema for the time being.

Jean-Serge Baril opened to 40,000 from the button, and Azim Popatia 3-bet all-in for 155,000 from the small blind. Amir Babakhani made the call from the big blind for roughly half of his own stack, and Jean-Serge followed along.

Amir and Jean-Serge checked it down to the river, and all players were asked to open up their cards.

    Jean-Serge: 8 of Clubs 7 of Hearts
Azim: Ace of Clubs 8 of Diamonds
Amir: Ace of Hearts 10 of Diamonds

Board: Jack of Diamonds 4 of Hearts Queen of Clubs 3 of Spades 6 of Clubs

Amir ended up taking down the pot with Ace-high Ten-kicker, virtually doubling him up, while Azim was eliminated from play.
