Day 2 in the Main Event has passed through 4 full levels of play and with 289 players still alive in the event, we surveyed the tournament floor for the current chip leaders. David Guay continues to lead the tournament, but a lot of players have closed the gap since the last time we took the pulse of the event. Right on David’s heels are fellow Quebec players Maxime Heroux, Kevin Rivest, and Maxime Flibotte-Blanchard.

322 players remain in level 12 of the WPT Montreal Main Event, and the current chip leader appears to be David Guay with well over 300,000 in front of him. Players will go on a 15-minute break once this level has been completed, and at this point we will publish an update on the top stacks in play.

David Guay has taken over the chip lead in the Main Event by a comfortable margin as play resumes in level 11 following the players’ first break of the day. David is a Quebec-based player who is best known for his awesome summer of 2017 in which he came 2nd in the WSOP $1K Tag Team event (with Pablo Mariz) and went as deep as 22nd place in the WSOP World Championship the same summer.
