There are just 9 players left in today’s WPT Montreal Event #7 – the $500 + $50 6-Max tournament which means the field is on the cusp of the final table, which will be brought together when 7 players remain. The chip leader is Nikola Isaev, who has an absolutely dominant stack, over 3x everyone else in the field.

Nikola Isaev busted Steven Martin after Steven went all in preflop. After the big stack at the table, Nikola, called, he showed his hand 9 of Spades 6 of Diamonds. Steven’s cards were the King of Spades Queen of Spades. When the flop came down 4 of Hearts 5 of Diamonds 10 of Diamonds, it was looking pretty good for  Steven. But the turn was dealt 2 of Diamonds and the river was an 8 of Diamonds. Nikola’s flush proved to be Steven’s undoing. He finished the tournament  in 18th spot.

The remaining players in the WPT Montreal 6-Max event are now in the money. It has taken just under 7 and a half hours to whittle the field down to 30 players, at which point play became hand-for-hand until the player in 30th place was eliminated. This turned out to be Richard Singh on table 73, who is the unfortunate “bubble player” in the event.

The rest of the players are all in the money! The minimum cash is $900 – but the prizes go all the way up to $26,500!

    Congratulations!

Big stack, Nikola Isaev, went all in, preflop. But after Hicham Hammoud called, fellow competitor, and small stack on table 77, Daniel Andrei, uttered: “Finally.” He looked around the table, and at me, explaining. “Every time he bets he (Nikola) goes all in. It’s been like thirty times in a row.” The other players at the table nodded their heads in agreement.

Nikola turned over 8 of Diamonds Jack of Hearts, and Hicham revealed King of Hearts King of Diamonds.

When the flop was dealt 4 of Hearts 3 of Spades 10 of Diamonds, Hicham sighed. “Don’t sink me now.” He looked at the dealer.

The turn came down 2 of Clubs and Hicham smiled. The river was a 6 of Diamonds, and Hicham doubled up his 96,000 chips.

Preflop, Dhaliwal Ravinder limped into the hand, betting 4,000. Macradij Yacoubian immediately raised to 33,000. Dhaliwal wasted no time, pushed all of his 114,000 chips into the pot. This gave Macradij pause for thought. He looked across the table at Dwawal, and then peeked at his cards. He counted out some chips, and then looked at his cards again. In the end, he tossed in his hand.

Shaking his head, he spoke to Dhaliwal, “I’m folding because you limped in.”

Dhaliwal smiled, “You might have beat me.”

Macradij: “I raised you, and then you go all in.” As an after-thought, he added. “I was holding a pair.”

Dhaliwal shrugged, and raked in his winnings.
