The first two starting flights in the WPTDeepStacks event in the 2018 WPT Montreal were held on November 1st, and with a total of 230 entries across the two starting flights, 63 players have booked a seat in Day 2 in the $1,000,000 guaranteed tournament.
The overall chip leader with north of 300K in chips is Trevor Argue from Okotoks, Alberta. Trevor finished 5th in the WPT500 earlier this week – clearly he’s in the midst of quite a run. Following him is Douglas James, a player who is no stranger to the top of a leaderboard in events at Playground.
Some other players with big – and well-deserved – reputations have also qualified for Day 2, including Yuan Li (3rd in the recent WSOP-C Playground Main Event), Dylan Wilkerson (final table of the 2015 WPT Canadian Spring Championship), François Billard, Raymond Latinsky, and Ireland’s Marc MacDonnell.
Day 1C in the event begins on November 2 at 12:00pm and Day 1D runs later at 6:00pm. Finally, there will be a Turbo Day 1E flight on November 3rd at 10:00am.
