The final table is set. The playground dealer team is well represented with 3 dealers and one former dealer on the final table (Anthony, Kyle, Alexandre and Andre).  The other players are working hard to take the top spots, so there is a bit of a fun competition taking place among the players, however, Andre Dupuis has a good lead with the largest stack on the table, and Kyle Jackson is in 2nd place and closing in on him.

FYI: Playground uses the TDA rules for tournaments which dictate that a final table is played out 7-handed in a 6-Max event.

    Mike S smashes the flop

Mike S has been nursing a below average stack and just shoved on the bubble.  He was holding Ace of Diamonds 9 of Diamonds and up against 7 of Clubs 7 of Spades. Luckily for Mike, he smashed the flop that was Ace of Hearts Ace of Spades 6 of Clubs, and the King of Diamonds on the turn and 4 of Hearts on the river were of no consequence. He has a badly needed double up and is still alive to continue in the game.

Right after this hand played out, Dave Jenneau-Cyr busted out as the bubble boy and the tournament is now in the money.

The tournament is now on the double-bubble

The tournament is now down to 12 players, and the top 10 will be in the money.

Here are photos of the remaining players:

    Santerre takes over the lead

The race is very tight with a handful of players all within close reach of each other, and the new chip leader is now Jean-Francois Santerre, with a stack of 124,500, followed closely by Alexandre Bedard, with 102,500. As 6-max is an aggressive game, the swings can be huge and the chips keep flying back and forth from one player to another, so, stay tuned for the next update to see how the leader baord may change.

Traditionally on the final day of an event such as Power Weekend, after having worked a long week, many of the dealers who aren’t scheduled to work on the last day of the event like to join the action. At the moment, Anthony Liakopoulos-Allyene is trying his best to represent the dealer pool.

Action was opened UTG with a min-raise, and Anthony bumped it up on the button to 20k. Both blinds got out of the way and Yahya Moussawi, already having put in 3,200, made the call.

The flop came 6 of Diamonds 7 of Diamonds Ace of Spades and Moussawi checked. Anthony then insta-shoved his stack, Moussawi smiled and folded, asking if Anthony would show 1 card. He replied “I can’t show, it’s not a cash game”…and then showed that he was holding the rockets (AA). Moussawi then said I had snowmen (88). Anthony then went on to win a few more hands and his stack keeps growing.

We have to give an honorable mention to Martin Adams in seat 3. Martin is enjoying the game and keeps trying to get involved in a pot and hopefully win a hand. He had his chance when he opened UTG to 4k, but sadly enough, there were no callers. He never showed his cards but he did look up with a smile and said “yay, I won a hand, maybe I will now make it into the blog!”.

Martin, and there you go, you have now made it into the blog.
