The 7 players still in the action were not going anywhere. For more than 3 levels, no one got sent to the rail. There were always two or three short stacks, but all their all-ins and/or their shoves went their way and they stayed in play.

With the 6th place bringing in a hefty $8,500 cash prize, no one wanted to leave with empty hands in 7th position. There were a few discussions that took place, about maybe taking some cash from the 6th place and making a “bubble”, but there was no agreement to be had.

Chris Rho, who’s been an almost permanent fixture in this Playground Power Weekend, was sitting on a micro stack for far too many hands. He got lucky and found some chips in some nice spots, but the players were obviously targeting him for the bubble spot. In the end, his luck ran out. Holding he was all-in against two other players. David St-Louis was holding and mega chip leader Nirvair Sandhu was holding . For the last hour, Sandhu was being very careful not to give his chips to the shorter stacks, so when he stayed in the hand everyone knew it was not with air. The queen on the board sealed Rho’s fate and he was sent to the rail in the bubble position.

As soon as Chris left the table, Tomislav Pavkovic forfeited his stack and took 6th position, and $8,500.

The STEP 3 Satellite for the MILLIONS main Event is advancing at a soft and steady pace. There is an average of 1 elimination per level. Players are half-way through level six and we thought to bring you some photos from the early levels.

The Playground Power Weekend is highlighted by two multi-flight events, along with a series of satellites into the upcoming MILLIONS Main Event. After a slew of Step 1 tournaments, and last night’s Step 2, we have now reached the final stage of the satellites: a $1,500 + $150 Step 3 direct satellite.

Cards are now in the air for this satellite, with currently 34 players registered and late registration open for another 3 hours.

The three tables hosting the 26 players had been playing in the hand per hand format for a few hands when the bubble was eliminated. Fernand Gaudreault, who had seen his chips go on a roller coaster ride all night tried his luck at the 11th hour. Holding , his had lacked the glitter of a premium hand but wasn’t too bad. His all-in only got one call, but unfortunately for him, it was from Zheng-Yi Xie. Table chip leader Zheng-Yi was seen bullying the table throughout pretty much every hand since the “hand per hand” play had started. And he was on fire.

Even though Zheng-Yi’s hand was nothing to write home about, except if you are Doyle, he felt pretty confident with his .

The flop pushed all the air out of Fernand’s lungs; not good at all. His only ray of sunshine was that at least Zheng-Yi’s lowest card had hit. Unfortunately, the on the turn and the on the river offered no help and the gracious player had to admit defeat, in the despised bubble position.
