Late registration is now closed, there were a total of 155 players who entered the tournament, and there are still 131 in contention for the final table.

During the break we had a chance to survey the stacks on the tables, and one player, James Maxwell, has taken a commanding lead and is running away from the pack. With the chip stack average at 35,500, Maxwell is sitting on 121,800, almost 30,000 chips more than the player in 2nd place.

The prize pool grew to a sweet $15,035; in just a little bit we will post the payouts.

Action on table 22 was heating up as Shawn S. shoved his stack on the turn on a 3 of Spades 4 of Hearts 10 of Spades 2 of Diamonds board, and looked up and said “please don’t take my photo if I lose the hand”.

Maxime Argento, seated to his direct left, looked at Shawn, then looked back at his hole cards, shook his head and folded. Shawn asked him “did you have the 5?”, and Maxime said “of course I had the 5, I had 55”.  Shawn said “then you were good” as he showed AJ

The prize pool has exceeded the $10K GTD!

    • Level: 5
    • Small Blind: 300
    • Big Blind: 600
    • BB Ante: 600
    • Chip Average: 33K

With already 129 players registered in today’s Deepstack event, and still growing, the GTD $10K prize pool has already been smashed and continues to get larger and larger.  There is still another 35 minutes of late registration available, so if you were on the fence and undecided about playing today, there is still time to jump into the action!

Walking around the room, we were able to take a few shots of some of the players already in their seats.

Event #4 PG 100 Day 2 starts at 1 PM

    2019/03/24 - 12:39 by Bob T

Day 2 of Event #4 will be starting @ 1 PM today.  There are 51 players returning all eyeing the 1st place payout of a cool $10,000.  All players are in the money and the min-cash payout is $220.

Nick Nickoletopoulos has been on fire in this Power Weekend and he leads the field with 586,500 chips, followed closely by Yannick Gouin, sitting on 579,500.

Play today starts in level 19 with blinds of 4K/8K, and blind levels are 30 minutes long (NB: please note that there was an error on the printed structure sheets which had indicated blind levels of 20 minutes).

Deepstack Turbo cards are in the air!

    • Level: 1
    • Small Blind: 50
    • Big Blind: 100
    • BB Ante: 0
    • Chip Average: 30K
    • Remaining: 73
    • Entries: 73

    2019/03/24 - 12:13 by Bob T

Today’s afternoon tournament is going to be a fun one; Event # 5 is a $100 +$10 Deepstack Turbo with a GTD $10K prize pool, players start with 30,000 chips, blind levels are 15 minutes long, and it is a freezeout format so unlike the re-entry events where we tend to see some very loose play early on in the day, players can only fire 1 bullet so you should expect to see some decent tight play taking place all day long. There are already 73 players in their seats so the tournament should hit the guarantee before the 1st break takes place.

Registration is open until the end of the 1st break after level 6, so you have until 1:45 PM to join in on the action.  Don’t forget, breakfast from The Rail can be ordered and served to you at your table right up until 2 PM on weekends, so get dressed and jump into your car and see you soon!
