    Event #2 final results

    2019/03/23 - 23:07 by Playground Poker

Event #2 of the March Power Weekend, the Playground 500, was a tremendous success that brought out a field of 314 entries. The great turnout smashed the $100,000 guarantee to create huge prizes at the top of the money list. 40 places paid in the event, and there was a player deal made with 6 players remaining. They chose to reserve $3,000 for the eventual champion, plus there were 3 seats ($1,650 value each) for the top 3 finishers at stake as well.

When the tournament concluded, the payouts had all been made as per the following table.

After 9 levels of play, the STEP 2 satellite for the MILLIONS North America is now on break. The end of the break will also signal the end of the late registration (or re-entry) period.

In total, no less than 93 players tried their hand for one of the coveted 25 seats into STEP 3 Sunday.

Right now, 69 players are still in; witch means that approximately 35% of those players will move on to the STEP 3.

Obviously, in satellite play, the player’s final chip counts don’t really matter because survival is key. But as a player, it’s always good to know where the chips lay.

So, with this in mind, we set our sights on players with at least 70,000, approximately twice the average. Sure enough we found four such players.

The elimination rate is steady and there are now 80 players remaining in Day 1C of the Playground 100.

As the players hit the rail, the tables are shrinking and the chips are climbing. With over 3 million chips in play, there is a lot of action to be had.

We took a few photos of the players from the previous level.

Larouche takes the lead after 6 levels

The players took a break between levels 6 and 7 and we hit the felts in search of candidates for the leaderboard.

Marc-André Larouche has taken the lead. Eight players have managed to gather more than 50,000 chips, but Larouche is way ahead with 77,000. With only 3,000 chips separating the next 7 players, saying the race is tight would be an understatement.

The registration is closed and a total of 158 entries made their way into the hall tonight, including 28 re-entries. Of those, there are now 103 players still in. Action will stop when 16 players are left standing… or rather sitting.
