After a few grueling hands that saw Harrison Kaczka scoop up the chips like a Dirt Devil, George Wolf finally got hold of hand worth going to mattress with.

Under the gun, George made a pot bet to 64,000. Both Arthur and Jean-René, button and small blind respectively, quickly got out of the way. This left only big blind Harrison in the pot with George. After a small period of thinking, Harrison bet the pot, effectively putting George all-in. George wasted no time and called, then both men tabled their hands.

George showed 2 of Clubs 7 of Diamonds, Ace of Diamonds Ace of Spades, hoping his rockets or diamond flush-draw would be enough. Harrison opened up Jack of Diamonds Jack of Clubs Queen of Diamonds 5 of Clubs and new he was in trouble. His flush draw was dead and his jacks were crushed.

The flop came out: 9 of Diamonds 6 of Diamonds Queen of Clubs and it made George smile; not bad at all. Harrison, who had been running like a God in the last few hands, stayed true to form when a 10 of Spades came on the turn, giving him a straight. At this point, George seriously needed a diamond to make a flush, but the 8 of Clubs on the turn left him wanting and sent him to the rail in 4th position. Harrison scooped yet another pot into his impressive stack.

    George Wolf, 4th position – $800

    Gingras out in 5th.

Enjoying a nice massage and a little lethargic, Robert Gingras was nevertheless wide awake when he called Jean-René Gonzalez’s bet on a : 9 of Clubs 2 of Spades 10 of Hearts flop. Having not went all-in but just calling, Robert was left with only 6,000 chips behind.

Even before the turn was out, Jean-René bet 6,000, effectively putting Robert all-in. A 6 of Spades came on the turn and Robert was already throwing his bounty chip in the mix.

Robert: 9 of Diamonds Ace of Clubs 7 of Hearts King of Spades
Jean-René: 9 of Hearts Ace of Hearts 10 of Spades Queen of Diamonds

The river 5 of Hearts letting Jean-René’s hand hold with two pairs.

    Robert Gingras – 5th position, $560

George Wolf doubles up on Arthur W.

George was involved in a hand sporting a nice 100K+ pot, with 58,000 chips in front of him, and only facing Arthur. The board was already showing 10 of Diamonds King of Diamonds 3 of Clubs.

The action was on Arthur W. and he bet 80,000, effectively forcing George to either go all-in for less, or fold. George took a few seconds to think then grabbed his whole stack and slammed it down on the table. “Let’s do this”, he said.

    Both players openened their hands:

George: Queen of Hearts Jack of Clubs Jack of Spades 7 of Clubs
Arthur: Ace of Spades 6 of Diamonds 10 of Clubs 8 of Spades

Arthur said, “you’re good, I’ve only got the ten.” as the dealer revealed the turn: 10 of Spades, giving Arthur trips. Never giving up, George said, “c’m’on; gimme a nine.” And sure enough, a 9 of Hearts poked it’s head up on the river, allowing George to scoop up some much needed chips.

    And then there were five

The remaining five players are enjoying a short but well-deserved break. This gave us a chance to give full chip counts.

Arthur W. is still in the lead, but the competition is gaining ground on him. After almost 7 hours of play, here are how the chips stand.

Nick Nickoletopoulos tried to get some action going, and was all-in for approximately 95,000 on a 10 of Spades 3 of Diamonds Ace of Diamonds board.

He got just one call, from Jean-René Gonzalez and both gentlemen tabled their hands.

Nick: Ace of Hearts 2 of Clubs 3 of Hearts Queen of Clubs

Jean-René: 5 of Clubs Jack of Clubs Ace of Spades Ace of Clubs

Board: 10 of Spades 3 of Diamonds Ace of Diamonds Jack of Hearts 7 of Diamonds

So Nick hit the rail in 6th position and the players head into a short break.

No sooner had the final table started that two players got eliminated almost back to back. Danielle Bracy was the first to hit the rail, followed by Ivan Driard. That left the remaining seven players in the money!

Wasting no time, Arthur W made short work of Maxime Laberge, sending him home in 7th position.

So it’s the end of the line for Maxime, who’s had a pretty good run tonight. In the meantime, Arthur is piling on the chips.

    Maxime Laberge – 7th position, $280
