After 6 levels, the players took a break and we performed a little survey to present the first leaderboard of the evening.

Jean-François Stoycheff is in the lead and the only player above 100K, with 108,900 chips. Five other players have come to our attention, each with a minimum of 75,000 chips. The night is still young and we’ll keep an eye on our leaders.

We were circling the tables when all of a sudden some yelps, hoots and hollers got our attention. Our arrival at the table was just in time to get the tail-end of a memorable hand.

The action before our arrival was unclear, but one thing was clear: Jean-François Stoycheff was happy. Three hands were face-up, obviously three all-ins.

Jean-François, shortest stack, was in for 20,725 with Ace of Diamonds Jack of Diamonds.

In the middle, with King of Hearts Queen of Clubs and 33,675 was Dan Vigderhous.

And last but not least, wast Pierre Audette, holding Ace of Hearts Jack of Clubs and covering both bets.

The flop must have made Dan cringe and JF & Pierre very happy: Queen of Hearts 10 of Diamonds King of Diamonds. Dan needed a queen, but not just any queen, only the spade would do, giving him a boat and avoiding the royal flush. As for Pierre, he just wanted do dodge everything. Obviously, with the title of this blog it’s easy to guess what happened next. The Queen of Diamonds made an appearance, and changed everything. Including breaking the normal poker-room buzz of chips shuffling and chit chat with that of exclamations and surprise. Nobody noticed, nor cared about the 2 of Clubs on the river, but we thought we’d mention it.

So Jean-François triples-up with his Royal Flush, and Dan gets his extra 12,950 paid by Pierre. No bounty chips were exchanged and everyone played on.

The numbers are climbing at a steady pace in the 6-Max Bounty. Players seem to be enjoying a great night of poker, and are on the lookout for bounty chips!

In 40 minutes of play, only two players have been eliminated, a sure sign that accompanies most freezout tournaments.

Here are a few photos of the players from level 1.

    2019/03/25 - 19:03 by Playground Poker

The last event in the March Playground Power Weekend is here.
The last event of the series is Event #8: $150 + $20 + $50 6-max Bounty. Things just got started, and here is a quick rundown of all you need to know.

Players start with 25,000 chips and the blinds will be increasing every 20 minutes. This is a freezout tournament, so no rebuys nor re-entries, players get only one shot at this. Players will receive a Bounty chips, worth $50, for each player they remove from the tournament. And remember, that if any player bets or includes his bounty chip he will automatically be all-in.

The tournament is 6-handed, and there will be a final table full redraw when the number of players reaches 7.

Players have until the beginning of level 7 to register, basically until 9:15PM. Once again, players have more than enough time to make it down to Playground Poker, to get into the action.

    Dealers…. shuffle-up and deal!

Dany Debs is Event #6 winner!

    2019/03/25 - 5:45 by Playground Poker

The heads up action between Dany Debs and Serge Roy was cool and relaxed. Both players exchanged chips, went all-in, folded, and let the button go back and forth for about 20 minutes.

But before long, Serge was running out of chips. His options were limited and something had to be done. He shoved all-in with his remaining chips and Dany made a swift call. Both men tabled their hands.

Dany: King of Diamonds Queen of Clubs

Serge: Queen of Spades 2 of Spades

The flop included a pair: Jack of Hearts 3 of Diamonds Jack of Spades and the Queen of Diamonds on the turn gave each man a second pair. Now Serge was in trouble; his deuce was useless and he quickly figured out that he absolutely needed either a Jack or a Queen for a boat or any Ace to kick in. Unfortunately for him, a little 4 of Hearts sealed his fate and he had to settle for 2nd place.

So congratulations to Dany Debs, who takes the win in Event #6 $100 + $10 Single Rebuy of the March Playground Power Weekend.

Event #6 Champion: Dany Debs, $2,912

    The last hand of play:

    2nd position: Serge Roy, $2,415
