This three-day tournament brought out an impressive field of 314 entries to build a prize pool that far exceeded the $100,000 guarantee. As the players take their places at the final table, Michael Korovine will start the day with the biggest stack in play of the eight finalists, but with the blinds beginning at 30K/60K everything could change quickly.

Play has just concluded on Day 1D. When the buzzer sounded to signal the end of play, 22 players remained to bag chips. They will be heading off to rest up for Day 2, which begins in less than two hours.
Kyun-Hee Chang went on a tear in the late stages to emerge as the chip leader with 408K in chips in the bag, eclipsing Michael Mckinnon who led the way for the majority of this flight.
Play is winding down on Day 1D of the Playground 500, as only 27 players and two levels of play remain. The players who survive until the end of level 14 will be bagging chips and taking a short break before they return to the tournament hall for Day 2 at 7pm.
Michael Mckinnon, this flight’s chip leader at the last break, has only added to his stack since and figures to be one of the top stacks that will emerge from this flight. The mood in the room has become a lot more serious as the levels have progressed; the players clearly have Day 2 on their minds.
Now that the late registration and re-entry period has closed on Day 1D, it will be a tight race to the finish in this flight. There are 39 players still in contention, and the chip average provides roughly 35 big blinds. The action got off to a fast start this afternoon, allowing several players to amass huge stacks and creating a huge gap between the big and small stacks in the field.

The late registration and re-entry period has just ended on Day 1D, however, there was enough time in this turbo flight for 66 entries to take part, including 15 re-entries. This brings the total number of entries in the Playground 500 to 314, enough to greatly surpass the $100,000 guarantee.

Play has just resumed in level 5 on Day 1D, with 45 players in the running. This flight has gathered 49 entries, including four re-entries, so everyone who made an early exit opted to fire a second bullet. This comes as no surprise given that this is the last chance to take part in the Playground 500. A little more than an hour remains in the late registration and re-entry period so there should be plenty more re-entries to follow.
Four players in the field have managed to accumulate more than double the current chip average, but they all trail our current leader, Martin Nguyen.
