Francois Jacob opened to 40,000 from the cutoff, and Michael Malm defended from the big blind. After Michael checked on the 4 of Diamonds 10 of Diamonds Jack of Spades board, Francois moved all-in for 162,000, finding a call from his opponent.

Francois: 2 of Clubs 2 of Hearts
    Michael: Queen of Hearts: Jh

The King of Spades turn and 8 of Clubs river brought no change to the outcome, and Francois was eliminated in 25th place for a $340 payday.

With around 25bb to his name and an aggressive image, Dylan Maille opted to under rep his premium hand by open-shoving from early position. With no hesitation, Joel Berard joined in the action by throwing in a calling chip, effectively committing his 267,000 stack.

Dylan: Ace of Clubs King of Diamonds
Joel: Queen of Hearts Queen of Diamonds

The board stayed clean for Joel’s pocket pair, reading 2 of Diamonds 7 of Clubs 8 of Clubs 7 of Diamonds 8 of Spades, and after paying off his opponent Dylan was left with a short stack of sub 5bb. He was eliminated a few hands later.

Andre Parent opened to 25,000 from early position, and Michael Malm flat called from late position before Kyle Jackson squeezed all-in for 197,000 from the blinds. Andre reluctantly folded, sending Michael into the tank.

Michael eventually committed the chips with what turned out to be the dominating hand.

Kyle: Queen of Spades 7 of Hearts
Michael: Ace of Hearts Queen of Clubs

With no help on the 2 of Clubs 8 of Hearts Jack of Diamonds 4 of Hearts 2 of Spades board, Kyle was eliminated in 32nd place, good for $270. Michael has continued his strong presence here in Day 2, now sitting on around 750,000 chips.

A short break is scheduled following level 21, during which we will publish an update on chips counts for the remaining players.

Action folded around to Brenda Blackburn on the button, and she limped in for 10,000. Jean Crete completed the small blind, and Daniel Beauregard opted to move all-in from the big blind for 82,500.

After some hesitation, Brenda made the call to put Daniel at risk, and Jean folded his cards.

Brenda: King of Hearts Jack of Hearts
Daniel: Queen of Spades Jack of Clubs

Brenda let out a small sigh when a Queen appeared as the window card, until the dealer slid out the rest of the flop giving her the nut straight. The final board read Ace of Diamonds 10 of Diamonds Queen of Clubs Ace of Hearts 6 of Spades, and Brenda added some much needed chips to her now 30bb stack.

Malm flips his way up the leaderboard

Michael Malm came into the day amongst the chip leaders, and has been involved in many hands since the start of Day 2. Although a few of his starting chips were distributed to some of his fellow table mates, he recently won a flip that put him right back near the head of the pack.

After opening to 25,000 from late position, Michael quickly called off the 3-bet all-in of Alexandre Mongrain from the blinds.

Michael: Ace of Hearts Jack of Spades
Alexandre: 7 of Diamonds 7 of Spades

Board: Ace of Spades 5 of Hearts 5 of Diamonds 8 of Spades 5 of Clubs

Michael bested his opponent by pairing the flop, sending Alexandre to the rail with a prize of $240. His newly acquired chips propelled him above 500,000, representing a stack north of 50bb midway through level 20.
