The numbers keep climbing as the players march into the tournament hall at a steady pace. Day 1C will no doubt be host to a massive turnout tonight.

There are presently over 2 million chips in play and the boards are showing 110 entries, including 2 re-entries, and 106 players still in.

There is still plenty of time to make it down to get into the action. Players can fire as many bullets as they want tonight, since unlimited re-entries are allowed in this flight.

Day 1C of the Playground 100 is about to start

    2019/03/23 - 18:59 by Playground Poker

The last of the three Day 1 flights of the Playground 100 is about to get underway. With unlimited re-entries and a guaranteed prize pool of $25,000, the Playground 100 is the one you don’t want to miss.

Players will kick off with 20,000 chips and the blinds will go up every 20 minutes. The registration period will remain open until the beginning of level 7, at approximately 9:15pm. So there is plenty of time to make it down to Playground poker and get into the action.

Out of the 143 entries in Day 1A last night, 15 players qualified for Day 2. This afternoon’s flight (Day 1B) received 195 entries and the top 20 will be moving on to Day 2. That tournament is about to finish.

Tonight, the top 10% will be added to the 35 players already qualified, and they all will be back tomorrow for Day 2 at 1:00PM.

Get in from the cold, to where the action is HOT!

The chips have been moving back and forth over the last hour and we now have a new chip leader, Daniel Pepin, a regular Playground daily tournament grinder who is clearly ahead of the others and is the only player right now above 200k .

As play will continue today until the tournament is down to 20 players (10% of the field), there will continue to be some big swings and stacks are sure to keep changing.

AK for De Grand Pre knocks out 2 players

The action has been heating up as many of the players with shorter stacks have found that if they hit that spot where it is “now or never”, they have been shoving away, hoping for a badly needed double up.

Shelly Rapp took a lot of chips from Manolis Garoufalis, and as the dealer was sending the chips her way, a few of the chips fell behind, and the dealer had to make sure that all of them made it to her. She told the dealer “as long as you bring the chips my way, I really don’t care what happens on the journey”.

The next hand, Garoufalis finding himself with a big hit on hos stack, announced that he was “all in blind”. The player seated to his left, Marc Touloute, also then shoved his stack. Then Langis De Grand Pre, seated in late position, instantly announced that he was all in.

    The hands were tabled:
Garoufalis: 7 of Hearts 8 of Spades
Touloute: King of Clubs Jack of Clubs
De Grand Pre: Ace of ClubsKing of Diamonds

De Grand Pre smashed the Ace of Diamonds King of Spades 2 of Clubs flop, and the 9 of Diamonds turn and Jack of Diamonds river were of no help to either of the shorter stacks, who’s tournament lives ended just like that.

    Dylan Thibault takes the lead

    • Level: 12
    • Small Blind: 800
    • Big Blind: 1.6K
    • BB Ante: 1.6K
    • Chip Average: 47,500
    • Remaining: 82
    • Entries: 195

    2019/03/23 - 16:33 by Bob T

With the chip average a little under 50k, we now have 4 players above 100k and another 5 who are hovering just below that.  Dylan Thibault, who made a deep run a few days ago as well as many other deep runs here at Playground, has now climbed to the top of the pack.  With hours of play left to go, anything can happen and it is still anyone’s game, so, stay tuned.
