The $550 Phase 1 has come to a close

2017/05/02 - 21:52 by Jôle Simard

Out of the 171 players who registered (twice in 23 cases) in today’s $550 Phase 1 tournament, only 20 are still at the tables. These players are all qualified for the big dance, and will bring their stack with them. They are currently bagging their belongings, and will pick a partypoker Million North America Day 1 to send them to.

Daniel Watton (pictured below), bagged the biggest stack, as he ended the day with 1,772,500 tournament chips, well above the more-or-less 1M average for Day 1s.

Here is a list of today’s qualifiers, excluding counts. They will be added to the Phase 1 Results page shortly, at which point their stacks will be published.

151 entries in the PLO Event

2017/05/02 - 20:55 by Jôle Simard

The first stint is now behind us in the 50/50 Bounty PLO Event, and with it the registration period. Needless to say that the 10K guarantee was shattered, as the prize pool and Bounties now add up to 3 times that amount! Players are now looking at a fixed payout structure, which will be published shortly.

Two players have managed to pretty much destroy their respective tables: Steve Ulloa-Torres now sits on 137,500 chips, while Issie Emin Yuzgulec has 113,000 to his name. These are astonishing starts, considering the current 30K average stack.

Stay tuned!

Play is now towards the end of level 3, and entries have just reached the 100-mark. As if the game needed it, Playground gave the Event a bit of personality by making it a 50/50 Bounty affair, and players answered by showing up in great numbers. Regular and Bounty chips are flying, and already 6 players have had to redeem themselves by re-entering the Event.

You have 35 minutes to register in this fun action-packed tournament, where draws and made hands flirt every minute!

Event 3: PL Omaha Bounty 50/50 Re-entry

2017/05/02 - 18:48 by Jôle Simard

Tonight, we have our first single-day Event of the 2017 Playground Poker Spring Classic. The Grand Prix Canada is now under wraps, and as Phase 1s are being played leading to our partypoker Million North America Main Event, excitement is building up.

It is in that atmosphere that Event 3 takes place, a Pot Limit Omaha 50/50 Bounty Event with a re-entry. Indeed, as per the 50/50 Bounty format, PLO players will play their beloved game with a $100 Bounty, AND the possibility to re-enter! The Event will start at 7pm sharp, and will share the tournament hall with today’s $550 Phase 1 that is ongoing right now.

Players will start with 20 000 in chips, and play 20-minute levels until a Champion is crowned. You can enter and re-enter until the end of the first break, or around 8:30pm.

Good luck!

In the tournament hall unfolds the first of 3 inner series $550 Phase 1s. The Event attracted a total of 171 players, 23 of which re-entered after running out of chips, bringing the total entries to 194. Players will therefore play down to 20, at which point the tournament will be halted and chips will be sent to 1 of 2 partypoker Million North America Day 1s, which are set to start on Friday and Saturday, at noon sharp.

It’s time for Day 1J

2017/04/29 - 16:19 by Jôle Simard

As Day 1I unfolds on the left side of the tournament hall with 145 players still competing, Day 1J is kicking off at the other end. $384,600 were accumulated so far, including the 12pm flight which attracted 332 players, and we hope that Day 1J will live up to it. With already 175 players sitting down, it looks like a nice field will be put together for this mid-afternoon dance.

Including Day 1I, 210 players have a Day 2 seat, and just 3 more flights are ahead. These players will compete tomorrow for a minimal prize pool of $500,000. Will you join them?
