Zheng-Yi Xie invested all with King of Hearts King of Spades, but his opponent’s Ace of Spades King of Diamonds got the best of him when the board came 6 of Hearts 7 of Spades 9 of Clubs Ace of Hearts 7 of Diamonds.

Stuart Taylor, on the same table, went all-in with his own kings, and suffered the same fate. Norson Shiniti Saho called him with Ace of Diamonds 9 of Diamonds, and hit his ace on the turn for the knockout.

Then Matthew Wilkins (Jack of Spades Jack of Diamonds), Tomas Fara (Queen of Spades Queen of Hearts), and Richard Myron (Ace of Diamonds 10 of Diamonds) got into a 3-way all-in. All the chips were pushed pre-flop, and the flop favored Wilkins, who still had quite a few outs to dodge:

Board: Jack of Hearts 3 of Hearts 4 of Hearts 2 of Clubs 3 of Clubs

All players were alive on the turn, but Myron was eliminated on that hand.

While these lines were being written, Tomas Fara lost the few chips he had left, and finished 13th, for $1,300.

16th: Zheng-yi Xie – $1,110.00
15th: Stuart Taylor – $1,200.00
14th: Richard Myron – $1,200.00
13th: Tomas Fara – $1,300.00

François Tarrab hits a 2-outer for a 600K pot – Players are in the money

  • Level: 20
  • Small Blind: 5K
  • Big Blind: 10K
  • Ante: 1K
  • Chip Average: 229.4K
  • Remaining: 17
  • Entries: 156

2017/05/09 - 22:13 by Jôle Simard

François Tarrab opened to 70K, which is a humongous bet considering the 10K big blind. Kris Klimosko went all-in from a late position for, and watched as the action folded to Tarrab, who completed the bet.

François Tarrab: 7 of Diamonds 7 of Clubs
Kris Klimosko: Ace of Diamonds King of Diamonds

Board: Queen of Spades King of Hearts Ace of Spades 7 of Hearts 9 of Spades

Klimosko flopped top 2 pairs, leaving Tarrab with a tough draw, as only one of 2 remaining 7s would help him. Tarrab hit one of them on the turn, and when the stacks were accounted for, both players had exactly 294K! Tarrab claimed the Bounty, and is still stacking chips.

Play was then hand-for-hand for 30 seconds, while Kelly Cameron was being eliminated on the other table. Congratulations to all money finishers!

Maxime Pageau soars in the lead

  • Remaining: 18
  • Entries: 156

When we arrived at the table, the pot was already quite sizable, and Maxime Pageau (title picture) had gone all-in for 166K on a Ace of Clubs King of Spades Ace of Diamonds 4 of Spades 3 of Hearts board. Tomas Fara, who had checked to him, tanked for a long time before throwing a chip in. Pageau then tabled 5 of Hearts 2 of Hearts, for a back door straight! Fara looked at the board for a second and a half, subdued, then started counting the payment. He is left with a little over 100K.

With that pot, Pageau is now the owner of 475K, the biggest stack in the tournament.

Shortly after, on the same table, Victor Adams raised to 22K from the under-the-gun position, and was called by Pageau on his immediate left. Then the action was folded around to Zhao Kang Peng in the small blind. He went all-in for about 90K, and Richard Myron immediately did the same from the big blind, with his 150K stack. Adams, the original raiser, tanked for a bit, and finally elected to move in as well, covering them both by a large margin. Pageau quickly got out of the way, and 3 players went to the board:

Zhao Kang Peng: 2 of Clubs 2 of Hearts
Richard Myron: Ace of Spades Queen of Clubs
Victor Adams: Ace of Diamonds Queen of Spades

Board: 4 of Hearts Jack of Hearts 4 of Spades 5 of Spades 7 of Hearts

Zhao found himself in s great spot, facing 2 players who had the same over cards, and his pair actually held, for a nice double up.

Moments before the break, the field in the $500 + $100 + $500 NL Hold’em 50/50 Bounty dropped to 18 players. The tournament staff formed the last 2 tables as soon as the players got back from break. Sebastien Soares (title picture) is still leading the field, 462K strong, and François Tarrab is now on his immediate left, with 363K, second in chips.

Here is the new seating arrangement, including counts:

The Bounty now counts 19 players, and with 16 places paid, the bubble will burst pretty soon. In the remaining field, some familiar faces are reaching for the money. Harley Stoffmaker is still around, with an average stack. Stuart Taylor, who made the final table of the 8-max last night, also holds his own. Sreyleap Prom just gained a few chips, and is now over average again, while Sebastien Soares leads the pack, with over 400K in chips.

There will be a break at the end of this level, and a detailed leaderboard will be made available then. In the meantime, here are some shots of the remaining field:
