Introducing the $530 + $20 Flip ‘n Go!

2017/05/04 - 19:50 by Playground Poker

Don’t have time to play a satellite for the $5,300 partypoker Million North America? Or do you simply want to take a quick and exciting shot at winning your seat? Then the $530 + $20 Flip ‘n Go is what you are looking for!

These fast 1-hand flip satellites are being offered at Playground Poker Club until registration closes for the Million. The cost is $530 + $20, and Flip ‘n Go’s open as soon as 10 players have signed up. The standard game is Texas Hold’em, however if players wish they can choose to play Omaha. Once players are bought in, they are dealt a hand face down, and then the 5-card board is revealed. Starting with seat 1, players open one card at a time until they beat the current high hand. Once all cards are opened, the winner of the hand wins the $5,300 seat – it’s as simple as that!

If you want to participate simply come down to Playground Poker Club and ask the brush desk to put you on the list!

The High Roller is up to 41 entries (40 players, 2 re-entry) as play enters level 7. Ryan Yu was eliminated shortly after the first break but is back in action now on his second bullet, as is Pascal Lefrancois, who just recently re-entered. Dean Murphy was also eliminated since the last break.

Caitlin Hall is the current chip leader after 6 levels of play, having more than doubled her 100K starting stack up to 230.1K. She is closely followed by Michael Addamo, who returns from the break with 227.4K, while Alexander Turyansky and Roberto Romanello also sit above 200K. Below are the top counts in play:

30 players will qualify to the Million in today’s Phase 1

2017/05/04 - 16:24 by Playground Poker

Once registration closed in today’s Phase 1, the board showed a total count of 299 entries (253 players, 46 re-entires), of which 30 will move a stack forward to the partypoker Million North America.

Players will have another chance to qualify tonight with a $530 + $50 satellite scheduled at 8pm, featuring a guarantee of 10 seats. Unlike the Phase 1, tonight’s tournament is a satellite – meaning the final stack will not be moved forward, but instead the players will earn a $5000 + $300 seat where they will begin the Million with the 1,000,000 starting stack.

The High Roller is back from the first break of the night, and through 3 levels of play Francois Billard has climbed into the lead. He won a pig pot in a hand that crippled Ari Engel during the first level of the day, and although he has lost some chips since, his 165,000 stack is still the biggest in the field. Below are the top counts entering level 4.

Registration has climbed up to 35 entries, with late reg still open until the second level of Day 2. The $500,000 guarantee has not yet been reached, however with several more levels left for inscriptions, and with unlimited re-entries permitted, we can expect the final number of entries to creep above the guarantee.

So far we have seen two eliminations: Ari Engel and Justin Ligeri.

Justin Ligeri button-raised 2,000 in an unopened pot, and November-Niner Vojtech Ruzicka 3-bet to 7,000 from the small blind. Justin, who had been quite active in the last few orbits, replied with a 4-bet to 25,000 and quickly slid the rest in when Vojtech 5-bet all-in.

Justin: Jack of Hearts Jack of Spades
Vojtech: King of Clubs King of Hearts

The two watched as the dealer rung out a 2 of Hearts 5 of Clubs 6 of Diamonds 2 of Clubs 9 of Hearts, and Vojtech added a little over 60,000 to his near starting stack while eliminating the first player from the field.

Vojtech is fresh from a High Roller win at the partypoker Millions in Nottingham just 2 weeks ago, where he bested a field of 110 players to pocket a cool £284,210 ($505,200CAD).
