Mike Leah opened to 1-million from utg +1, and Cassidy Battikha flat called from the hijack position. With 5,840,000 in front of him, Emmanuel Kyrkinis squeezed all-in from the button, but found isolation from Kevin Zeidler in the small blind, forcing the others out of the hand.

Emmanuel: 6 of Hearts 6 of Spades
Kevin: King of Diamonds King of Clubs

Board: Ace of Clubs 10 of Clubs 8 of Clubs King of Hearts 6 of Clubs

Kevin covered his opponent by roughly 2 million, and climbed up to nearly 16 million after the hand.

The Grand Prix Canada final table lost Dilovan Hussein only moments after moving up onto the stage for the live stream.

Mike opened the action to 1 million from utg +1, and Dilovan made the call from the cutoff, investing more than half of his stack. Kevin Zeidler joined in from the small blind and the 3 players went to see a flop.

Kevin checked his option first to act on a Ace of Diamonds 2 of Clubs Jack of Spades board, and Mike then took a peek at Dilovan’s stack and bet just under half of it – 415,000. Dilovan moved all-in for 850,000, Kevin folded and Mike called.

Mike: Ace of Spades 3 of Clubs
Dilovan: Jack of Diamonds 10 of Spades

Dilovan needed help if he wanted to keep his seat at this final table, but the running cards brought a 6 of Spades and a 2 of Diamonds, ending his deep run in 8th place.

8th place: Dilovan Hussein – $6,000.00

Kyle Chang has been riding the short stack for a few orbits now, patiently waiting for a worthy opportunity to slide forward his stack. With 4 folds leading up to him, he peeled down at a marginal hand and pulled the trigger for his last 840,000 in the last hand of level 33.

Kyle found a fold from Shahar and from Leandre, however both Mike Leah and Cassidy Battikha called the all-in from with a discount from the blinds.

The two live players checked down to the river, and with 4 of Hearts 6 of Hearts Ace of Clubs 5 of Diamonds 4 of Spades showing, all three players were told to table their hands. Mike flipped over Jack of Diamonds 9 of Diamonds, Cassidy showed King of Diamonds Jack of Hearts and Kyle opened Queen of Diamonds 9 of Hearts. Neither of the players connected with the board, and Cassidy took the pot with his King-high – sending Kyle to the rail in 9th place.

With only 8 players remaining in the Grand Prix Canada, the final table has been moved back up on the stage so that the live stream can resume. Viewers can follow all the action by either visiting the Playground Poker Facebook page or the partypoker LIVE twitch page – the stream is on a short delay and will therefore begin in a few minutes.

9th place: Kyle Chang – $5,000

Sheres goes out on a draw

2017/05/02 - 0:09 by Playground Poker

It only took a few quick hands on the final table of the Grand Prix Canada to see our first casualty.

Emmanuel Kyrkinis opened to 525,000 from late position, and Kevin Zeidler made the call from the hijack position. Joel Sheres completed from the big blind, and action went 3-handed to the flop.

With Jack of Spades 5 of Spades 9 of Clubs showing, Joel open-shoved his 2,325,000 stack first to act. Emmanuel mucked his hand, but Kevin connected enough to make the call.

Joel: Queen of Hearts 10 of Diamonds
Kevin: Ace of Clubs Jack of Hearts

Joel needed to find one of 8 straight cards, a queen or running tens, however the run-out was not favourable to him as the dealer rung out a 4 of Hearts and a 2 of Diamonds.

10th place: Joel Sheres – $4,000

With the most recent elimination of Timothy Deering, the partypoker LIVE Grand Prix Canada has now reached the 10-handed final table. Once play reaches 8-handed, the players will return to the feature table on the stage and the live stream will resume, now with cards up. To view the stream, simply go to the Playground Poker Facebook page or go to the partypoker LIVE twitch page.

Cassidy Battikha leads the final 10 with nearly 15.5 million in chips, but right on his tail are Kevin Zeidler (14 million) and Mike Leah (12 million). Mike and Kevin are the two remaining players with a Golden Chip, and are in a heads-up race for a $20,000 bonus!

A short break is scheduled in 20 minutes, at which point we will publish the full chip counts of the remaining players.

Congratulations on making the Grand Prix Canada final table!
