The first break of Day 2 has just passed us here in the Grand Prix Canada, and Francois Allard (pictured right), the chip leader to start the day, has managed to maintain the lead with 218 players remaining. He has chipped up to 1,562,200, but is closely followed by Victor Artemenko who now holds 1,394,500.

A few other players have joined them in the millionaires club, and below you will find a list of the top 10 counts entering level 16 as well as some photos from the last level before the break:

241 players remain in the Grand Prix Canada as we enter the third level of Day 2. Since the start of the day we’ve seen less than 30 casualties, however the pressure of the rising blinds should result in some big chip movements in the levels to come. Level 15 has just begun, after which is a short-scheduled break during which we will publish an update on the leaderboard.

Day 2 of the Grand Prix Canada is in full swing and one 40-minute level has already passed us. A few eliminations have already taken place, but with the tournament returning to level 13 for Day 2 and the average stack near 75bb, players are very deep in chips with lots of room to play.

Francois Allard appears to be the biggest stack at the moment, sitting with around 1.1 million in front of him. Victor Artemenko, Steve Cotton and Joel Sheres are also atop the leaderboard and flirting with the 7-figure mark. A full update on chip counts will be published during the first break, following level 15.

End of Day 1H results

2017/04/29 - 4:20 by Playground Poker

Another flight is over and done, and with a huge 281-player turnout, 29 players have secured themselves a spot in Day 2, collecting a $400 cash bonus along the way. Tomorrow will be the last day to participate in a starting flight to the Grand Prix Canada, and a total of 4 flights are scheduled. Playground Poker Club will host 3 of them, with live flights kicking off at 12pm, 4pm and 7pm. Players can also join into a 9pm online flight on partypoker.net, which will be the final flight. Day 2 will then take place on Sunday at 1pm, and all of the qualifiers will be reunited under one roof in the tournament hall at Playground to compete for their share of this $500,000 guaranteed prize-pool.

Leading up to Saturday’s flights, the combined total number of entries through 24 starting flights is of 1,591, which is still a ways from meeting the guarantee. Players might therefore be treated to some overlay if less than 909 more entries take place tomorrow, and who doesn’t like added value? Don’t miss out!

Tyler St-Clair bagged the biggest of the 29 stacks that qualified from Day 1H, and he will return to the felts with a towering 934,300 in chips. Only one player has managed to bag more chips that Tyler so far: Victor Artemenko, who ended his online flight with 990,000 chips. Given the larger field size, a number of other players also managed to end the night with more than healthy chip counts. Below are the end results from Day 1H of the Grand Prix Canada.

Players in Day 1H have completed 18 levels of play so far, and 44 remain as they play down to the final 29. Once the flight is completed, we will publish the final results of the flight, and add the counts to the Grand Prix Canada Day 1 combined results page.

Guillaume Tremblay (pictured) has taken over the chip lead at this stage of the night, and he holds a hair above half a million in chips. With 15 more eliminations needed to end the flight, we can expect to see a lot of chip movement in the levels to come. Below are the top counts entering level 19:

Day 1H is moving forward, and given the high number of entries, some players are starting to build some very big stacks. A few of them have already reached the 300-400K mark with still a lot of play to go before they call it a night. A short break is scheduled in less than 2 levels, during which we will publish an updated leaderboard from the flight.

Below are some photos taken in recent levels.
