A nearly 70-million chip pot was created in a pre-flop raising war between Matt Waxman and Michael Addamo.

When all was said and done, Matt tabled a Ace of Clubs Ace of Diamonds and was faced with Michael’s Queen of Clubs Queen of Hearts. The board brought no change in the outcome, as Matt’s rockets remained best on a King of Spades King of Diamonds 10 of Hearts 8 of Clubs 3 of Diamonds board, earning him the massive pot.

Michael was left with 700,000 after the hand, and has tripled it up since.

Three more eliminations took place in the last few hands, and all three players collected $32,500 for their finishing positions.

The first was Ha Van Nguyen, who shipped his last 15,500,000 from the small blind after Rayan opened to 2,100,000 from early position. Ha Van tabled Ace of Spades Jack of Spades and was racing versus 7 of Clubs 7 of Spades, and although the flop was favourable for him, he couldn’t catch up on the 8 of Hearts 10 of Diamonds Queen of Diamonds 2 of Clubs 8 of Clubs board and saw Rayan collect the last of his chips.

On another table, Scott Montgomery opened to 2,300,000 from the hijack, and was happy to call off Sam Greenwood’s 7,700,00 all-in. Sam tabled King of Diamonds 10 of Diamonds, which was no match to Scott’s Ace of Clubs Ace of Spades on a King of Clubs Queen of Hearts Queen of Diamonds Queen of Spades 2 of Hearts board.

Duff Charette took advantage of an unopened pot as he shoved for 22,600,000 from the small blind, however bigger-stacked Minghze Zhang woke up with a hand in the big blind and made the call.

One of the most experienced players remaining in the field, Ari Engel, has just eliminated Thomas Cemm and joined the chip-leaders deep in the partypoker Million North America.

Thomas opened from the cutoff, and was met with a 3bet to 6,600,000 from Ari in the big blind. He replied with a 4bet to 25,300,000, leaving himself with less than 5,000,000 behind. Ari made the call, and then moved all-in once the flop was dealt.

Ari: Ace of Clubs Queen of Clubs
Thomas: Ace of Spades 7 of Diamonds

Board: 6 of Diamonds 6 of Clubs King of Hearts 9 of Diamonds Queen of Spades

Ari’s hand held on for the win and climbed up above 560 million in chips, sending Thomas out in 29th place in the process. Shortly after the hand, Ari won a pot versus Scott Montgomery, increasing his holding to nearly 90 million.

#partypokerMillionaire challenge winner Joe Sicko falls in 30th place

After a very quick start to the day where we saw 5 eliminations take place in the first 15 minutes of play, action slowed down a little once play reached 4 tables. A number of hands took place before we saw the next casualty, Michel-Claude Baroud, who was sent to the rail in 32nd place.

Shortly after, Alexander Allison 3bet all-in for 14,100,000 from the small blind facing an early position open to 2,000,000 from Mingzhe Zhang. After a moment in the tank, Mingzhe slammed a stack of T500,000 chips in the middle to announce a call, and hands were tabled. Alexander showed down 7 of Diamonds 7 of Clubs, but was bested by King of Clubs Queen of Clubs on a 2 of Clubs Jack of Clubs Queen of Spades 8 of Clubs 5 of Clubs board to finish in 31st place.

Just as the first level of play was coming to a close, Joe Sicko, who won his $5,000 + $300 entry via the #partypokerMillionaire challenge, picked up a premium hand and open-shoved his 13,800,000 stack from the cutoff. Unfortunately for him, his King of Clubs King of Diamonds were crushed by the Ace of Hearts Ace of Diamonds of Niall Farrell in the big blind. With no help on the 2 of Diamonds 3 of Diamonds Jack of Diamonds 3 of Hearts 7 of Clubs board, Joe was eliminated in 30th place, earning a cool $32,500 for his free entry.

Day 4 is off to a blistering start, and we saw 5 eliminations take place in the first 15 minutes of play.

Andrew Walter was the first to go after running his 8 of Diamonds 8 of Spades into the Ace of Clubs Ace of Diamonds of Jordan Saccucci, who later went on to double up Patrick Blye. As this was happening, short-stacked Viet Van Vo failed to spin up his stack and was eliminated in 36th place, while Christopher Annouza took 35th place.

Sasan Mehrabian squeezed all-in for 15.5 million after an open from Ari Engel and two calls. Scott Montgomery elected to call after Ari let of his hand, and managed to overcome Sesan’s Jack of Clubs Jack of Spades with Ace of Hearts 10 of Spades by spiking and Ace on the river.

Vlad Mezheristky was the next casualty, and his elimination in 33rd place reduced the field to just 4 final tables.

All 5 of these players collected $30,000 for their finish.
