The live flights to the Grand Prix Canada have been growing as we come closer to Day 2, which is often the case. Tonight’s Day 1F was the biggest flight to date, having attracted a total of 150 runners, which in turn will send 15 more stacks into Day 2. We can expect tomorrow’s evening flight to be even more popular, and Saturday’s 3 flights should see a big turnout as well.
The total number of entries is now up to 1,105, excluding the online flight which is currently running on partypoker.net (with late registration still open). This number represents less than half of the guarantee for the Event with only 8 more flights to go – 3 online and 5 live. Whether the $500,000 guarantee will be reached is still up in the air, but one thing is for certain: this tournament is a great value for the players!
Day 1F is into level 7, and during the short break that just passed us we took a walk around the room to find the biggest stacks. Danick Landriault has made the most of the first 6 levels of play and has more than quadrupled his starting stack up to 121,200. Dan Vigderhous is the only other player to have breached the 6-figures and currently holds 101,725, while Joshua Frazer James rounds the top 3 with a stack of 91,675.
