Sheres goes out on a draw

2017/05/02 - 0:09 by Playground Poker

It only took a few quick hands on the final table of the Grand Prix Canada to see our first casualty.

Emmanuel Kyrkinis opened to 525,000 from late position, and Kevin Zeidler made the call from the hijack position. Joel Sheres completed from the big blind, and action went 3-handed to the flop.

With Jack of Spades 5 of Spades 9 of Clubs showing, Joel open-shoved his 2,325,000 stack first to act. Emmanuel mucked his hand, but Kevin connected enough to make the call.

Joel: Queen of Hearts 10 of Diamonds
Kevin: Ace of Clubs Jack of Hearts

Joel needed to find one of 8 straight cards, a queen or running tens, however the run-out was not favourable to him as the dealer rung out a 4 of Hearts and a 2 of Diamonds.

10th place: Joel Sheres – $4,000
