When we arrived at the table, the pot was already quite sizable, and Maxime Pageau (title picture) had gone all-in for 166K on a board. Tomas Fara, who had checked to him, tanked for a long time before throwing a chip in. Pageau then tabled , for a back door straight! Fara looked at the board for a second and a half, subdued, then started counting the payment. He is left with a little over 100K.
With that pot, Pageau is now the owner of 475K, the biggest stack in the tournament.
Shortly after, on the same table, Victor Adams raised to 22K from the under-the-gun position, and was called by Pageau on his immediate left. Then the action was folded around to Zhao Kang Peng in the small blind. He went all-in for about 90K, and Richard Myron immediately did the same from the big blind, with his 150K stack. Adams, the original raiser, tanked for a bit, and finally elected to move in as well, covering them both by a large margin. Pageau quickly got out of the way, and 3 players went to the board:
Zhao Kang Peng:
Richard Myron:
Victor Adams:

Zhao found himself in s great spot, facing 2 players who had the same over cards, and his pair actually held, for a nice double up.
