David Lejeune bags the lead in Day 1G

2017/04/28 - 20:01 by Jôle Simard

Day 1G has just come to a close. With 16 players left, there were simultaneous all-ins on the last 2 tables, and the biggest stack won their hands on both, leaving 14 players in the tournament. These 14 players are now bagging their chips onto Day 2, which is set to start Sunday at 1pm.

David Lejeune (pictured in front) has been holding his ground all day, keeping himself in the average, until the tournament broke into 2 tables. That is when he picked up some speed, racing into the chip lead and keeping it until the end.

Tonight’s flight is on its second level, and there are already 200 players in it. Come join the crowd for a chance to send some chips to Day 2, where the overlay awaits!

Here is the list of 1G qualifiers:

Day 1H is up above 200 entries so far, with late registration open for another 90 minutes or so. This is by far the biggest flight to date, however every flight remaining will need to see this big of a number of attendees if the $500,000 guarantee is to be met. Otherwise the players will enjoy some overlay!

3 live flights are scheduled for tomorrow (12pm, 4pm and 7pm), which is the last day to qualify for Day 2. In addition, 2 more online flights remain on partypoker.net – one tonight at 9pm and another tomorrow night at 9pm.

It’s Friday night and Playground Poker Club is buzzing with action – the cash tables are overflowing into the tournament hall, the daytime flight to the Grand Prix Canada is on it’s last legs and the evening flight has just kicked off.

As expected, the flights are getting larger and larger – possibly due to the fact that this Event #1 of the partypoker.net Live is looking at some potential overlay. There is a $500,000 guarantee boasted for the event, and so far the total number of entries is suggesting the possibility of overlay, as the combined count is of 1,271 entries after 22 flights, with 6 more flights to go. The full schedule for the Grand Prix Canada can be found here.

Action is underway in level 1 of Day 1H, and late registration will remain open through until the end of the first break at 9:15pm. Over 100 players are already in their seats so far, suggesting that tonight’s flight will be a big one. Come on down to Canada’s premiere poker destination and grab a seat at the tables!

See you on the felts!

18 players are still sitting in Day 1G, as registration climbs for tonight’s flight. 14 out of these 18 players will be asked to bag their chips onto Sunday’s Day 2. David Lejeune is currently in the lead with about 400K in front of him. This being said, the average stack has 20 big blinds, and it is still anybody’s game at this point.

Great value in the Grand Prix Canada

2017/04/28 - 17:26 by Jôle Simard

In case you haven’t heard, the Grand Prix Canada has some extra attached value to offer, as it is now almost certain to feature a prize pool overlay. Half the guarantee has been collected in the first 22 starting flights, and there are 6 more to come. Although his week-end’s flights will for sure welcome a tremendous amount of players, our total will most likely fall short of the 500 000$ guarantee. Play tonight (7pm) or tomorrow (12pm, 4pm and 7pm) to get a chance at a piece of the cake!

Meanwhile, cash games are booming, and all players can enjoy the posh Player Lounge with an old school cachet, which can be found at the back of the tournament hall, with arcades, table tennis, air hockey, and free merchandise!

We’ll be waiting!

Day 1F has now moved to 4 tables, as level 13 is underway. Players just enjoyed a much deserved break, and we took that opportunity to scan the tables for leaders. Michael Petratta is leading the 40-player field, with Shawn Kirbyson on his heels. They both have 3.5 times the average, with twice as many chips as our 5th player on the leaderboard!
