Only 17 players are still in contention of bagging chips in this 4th live flight of the Grand Prix Canada as play returns from the 3rd break of the night. Once we see 3 more eliminations, the flight will come to a close and the remaining players will bag their stacks onto Day 2.

Leading the field is Brian Morgan, who is up to 401,400 in chips entering level 19. Other big stacks include Dominic Chagnon (392,400), Daniel Leduc (362,500) and Mathieu Ducharme (358,600). Once the flight is over, we will add the chip counts to the combined counts for Day 2, which can be found here.

Only 3 tables remain in play in Day 1D of the Grand Prix Canada, and a little less than half of the remaining players will bag some chips into Day 2, with 14 qualifiers scheduled to go through in this flight.

Haguy Cohen leads the way as he nears 300K in chips, while Dominic Chagnon holds a healthy 2nd place stack with around 250K. Brian Morgan rounds the top 3 with 230K, and Therlegrand Faustin, Paul Arcache, Ghislain Bissonnette, Natalya Goldis and Karim Abdelhamid flirt with the 200K mark.

Level 10 has just been completed here in Day 1D of the Grand Prix Canada, and the field has been more than cut in half. Only 6 tables remain as we play down to the final 14 players, who will earn themselves a cash prize of $400, as well as carry their stack onto Day 2.

A short break is scheduled after level 12, at which point we will publish an update on the leaderboard.

With late registration now closed, the story for Day 1D is set – with 131 players registered, action will continue until the final 14 players remain. The surviving players will then bag and tag their chips onto Day 2, and collect a $400 cash prize along the way (with much more up for grabs in Days 2 and 3!).

Michel Leblanc has leaped up above 100K in just 6 levels of play, and his 102,400 stack currently tops the Day 1D field at this first break of the night. Haguy Cohen sits in second place with 90,525, while Kristopher Chaykowski rounds the top 3 with a stack of 80,550.

Players who have had the misfortune of being eliminated from play still have several chances to try and bag a stack onto Day 2, as more starting flights are scheduled over the next few days. For a complete list of starting flights, visit the information page for the Grand Prix Canada.

Day 1C is in the books

2017/04/26 - 20:02 by Jôle Simard

Our 10 qualifiers for Day 1C were decided moments ago, when Michael Moussis opened to 50K and Florin Barburasa went all-in for about 100K. As he called, Moussis tabled King of Diamonds Jack of Hearts, and realized he was not too far behind when Barburasa showed his Ace of Diamonds 3 of Hearts. The board came: 9 of Clubs Ace of Hearts Queen of Clubs 10 of Clubs 9 of Hearts. The turn put an end to this flight, and offered even more chips to Moussis, who was already very well off. His finishing stack counts more than twice as many chips as any other.

This concludes our third Live flight of the Grand Prix, as Day 1D gets underway. Below is a list of our Day 1C qualifiers and their stacks, and you can consult the combined qualifiers list here.
