Attendance in Day 1C is growing nicely, and could even surpass last night’s flight. 74 players have joined so far, with more than an hour to go before registration closes.

Dealers and players alike are getting ready for the start of Day 1C, which is in just a few moments. It is expected that the number of entries will grow noticeably as the tournament progresses, as the urgency to qualify builds up. Yesterday’s Live flights saw a total of 149 players, 16 of which bagged chips. Qualifiers continue to accumulate as Live and online flights take off daily, and will meet on Sunday’s Day 2. This afternoon’s flight will see around 40 players start on time, which indicates a total that will blow yesterday’s 56 entries out of the water.

Late registration ends at 2:15pm, leaving plenty of time for you to make your way to Playground Poker Club and battle it out for a few hours. The number of Day 2 seats awarded is unlimited, so come get yours!

Golden Chip update – Wednesday

2017/04/26 - 8:58 by

Live starting Days in the partypoker LIVE Grand Prix Canada are well underway, but online starting days continue to be running with additional online Day 1s on partypoker daily at 9:00pm. Day 1s wrap up both Live and on partypoker on Saturday April 29th.

Last night’s online Day 1 saw an additional 36 entries in the event, 6 of whom qualified for Day 2. All Day 1 results are published in a combo results table: Grand Prix Canada – Day 1 Combined Results.

Players who qualify online have a pretty great bonus – the first 100 of them automatically qualify for the Golden Chip Last Longer bet that will give the winner a $20,000 prize! There are still 43 Golden Chips to be won – take a shot online and try and get one of your own!

Day 1B of the Grand Prix Canada has come to a close, and 10 players have bagged and tagged a stack onto Day 2, collecting a $400 cash prize along the way.

Philippe Drouin (pictured) ended the flight with the biggest stack of the flight, and will return with an armory of 452,000 on Sunday for the continuation of this massive $500K guaranteed tournament. Below is a list of players who qualified in Day 1B, along with their player-reported chip counts.

Players wishing to participate in this event still have ample opportunities to do so, with 2 live flights scheduled on Wednesday through Friday, and 3 more on Saturday. There are also a handful of online starting flights remaining – more information regarding the event can be found here.

Day 1B is on a short break following level 18, and the field is down to just 12 players. This means only 2 eliminations separates the final 10 from bagging onto Day 2.

Eric Leblond and Eric Bigras share the lead as they both flirt with the 400K threshold, while Philippe Drouin, Bill Kontaratos and Jean-Francois Jodoin hang around the 300K mark.

Once the flight has come to a conclusion, their chip counts will be added to the combined Day 2 counts for the Grand Prix Canada.
