Partypoker held a promotion for online qualifiers to the Grand Prix Canada in the form of a last-longer. The first 100 players to qualify a stack online onto Day 2 via their site were given a Golden Chip, and the last man standing would be awarded a bonus prize of $20,000 aside from their respective payout. This prize was an addition to the prize pool, and therefore not taken out from the prizes.
11 players returned to Day 3 with a Golden Chip, however the number quickly dropped as the day progressed. Once the 8-handed final table was formed, only two players remained in contention of winning the prize: Mike Leah and Kevin Zeidler. Both players were very healthy in chips, however after a few levels of play Mike dropped to the short end of the leaderboard. He was eventually eliminated from play in 4-handed action, and Kevin was therefore awarded the prize.
Action is still underway with 3 players remaining, but Kevin has locked in the extra $20,000 as he attempts to add another $100,000 to his payout.
Congratulations!
