Although we missed the hand, Tony Tran, who has been a force all throughout the tournament, just busted in 23rd, taking home a prize of $8,150.

According to those playing at his table, He went up against Daniel Dubeau, going all in on a J-9-4 flop. Tran had made a pair of Jacks, but Dubeau was hiding a pocket pair of Aces that brought Tony down. It was an excellent run for Tony, and the poker continues!

We are entering the final stretch here in the WPTDeepStacks Day 3, as we just lost a player, Karim Kamal, who finishes the tournament in 24th place. He takes home a prize of $8,150, and now the players are being re-shuffled into three 8-handed tables.

The hand that busted Karim Kamal played out in the following manner. When we arrived at the table, some cards had already been dealt.

Board: 10 of Hearts 5 of Hearts Queen of Spades 7 of Clubs

Karim’s opponent in the hand, Balakrish Patur, opended with a bet of 100,000. Karim called it, and the river was dealt a 2 of Clubs. Balakrish opened with an all in shove, and he had a much larger stack. Unable to let the hand go, Karim called, flipping over his middle pair King of Clubs 10 of Clubs. It wasn’t enough to best Balakrish, who had a Queen of Clubs 7 of Hearts.

Cards are in the air for the WPTDeepStacks Final Day!

The day has finally arrived! The WPTDeepStacks tournament is playing out its final day today, Day 3, and the first cards were dealt just over an hour ago.

During the first 60-minute level we lost 6 players, and so now we are down to 25. Each of those battle-hardened players received a prize of $6,900 for lasting this far. The next pay jump occurs at place #24, which pays out $8,150.

Good luck to the rest of the players still in the hunt!
