At table 27 Tony Tran won a relatively nice pot just now, pushing out his competitors with some aggressive play, and also relying on the pressure from the time clock.

Tony opened with a raise of 23,000, which was called by Steven Martin, Michael Ferrer and Christopher Rivard. 100,000+ chips were in the pot already.

Flop: 3 of Hearts 9 of Hearts 10 of Diamonds

After two checks by Michael and Christopher, Tony opened again with a bet of 38,000. He was called by Steven, and the other two folded. The turn was a 5 of Hearts.

With three hearts on the board, Tony now raised to 78,000, about half the size of the pot. After a long wait (and the use of one or two of his 30 second time chits, Steven was forced to fold. Tony was a gentleman about it, however, and showed his Jack of Clubs Jack of Diamonds. “What can I do? I didn’t have the hearts!” said Steve.

An interesting bubble elimination has brought the High Roller field into the money, and with it comes the close of Day 2.

On a 3 of Spades King of Diamonds 2 of Diamonds flop, action blew up between John Krpan and Ajay Chabra leading to an all-in and a call. Ajay turned over King of Hearts King of Spades and was matched with the one hand he did not want to see, as John was holding 4 of Diamonds 5 of Diamonds for open-ended straight draw and flush draw.

John ended up bricking both draws, as the dealer rung out a Queen of Clubs and a Jack of Hearts as the turn and river, and when the count was done both players had identical stacks, each holding 195,500.

With his elimination, the remaining 13 players bagged and tagged their chips onto Day 2, with Tommy Nguyen at the head of the pack. Full counts are listed below.

Prior to the flop, Patricia Chiarelli raised to 12,000.  Victoria Rogers, looked at her hand, and then moved all of her chips towards the middle of the table. Line Vincent immediately called, and Patricia decided to fold. Before the heads up clash played out, Victoria show her Queen of Clubs Jack of Clubs, and Line revealed Ace of Clubs 5 of Diamonds.

When the flop came down 6 of Spades 3 of Hearts 5 of Hearts, Line smiled and Victoria sighed. After the turn was dealt 7 of Diamonds, Victoria stood up.  All hope for her disappeared on the river when the dealer turned Ace of Spades, rewarding Line with two pair and all the chips.

As we arrived at table 22, the all in was already in progress. In the heads up battle were Mohammed Alemelhuda and Giancarlo Palleschi. Giancarlo was holding the pocket King of Spades King of Hearts, and Mohammed had an Ace of Hearts Jack of Clubs.

The board came down 5 of Diamonds King of Diamonds Ace of Diamonds, and Mohammed was already out of his seat putting his coat on. The last two cards didn’t help (we missed them), and Mohammed’s night was over. He still took home $4,000 for his trouble, finishing in 60th place.
