Montrealer, Rodney Ramalho, who won the 2015 DeepStacks poker tour championship, raised to 3,300, preflop. After everyone else at the table folded, fellow Montreal native, Maxime Theroux, who was the 2017 WPT Montreal champion, called.

When the flop came down , Rodney wagered another 3,300. Maxime called. When the dealer revealed the turn , both players checked. When the river was dealt , the two Montrealers checked once more. After Maxime showed his , Rodney returned his hand to the dealer, unable to beat Maxime’s pair of tens.

Ruben Perceval was just eliminated from the WPT Montreal Main Event in 26th place, adding another deep run to his growing resume.

In his final hand of play, he 3-bet his remaining 210,000 after Upeshka opened from middle position. Ruben tabled and was the slight favourite over Upeshka’s . Both players connected on the flop, with Upeshka improving to a flush on the turn. Ruben wasn’t able to spike a river boat as a was dealt to complete the board, and he took a walk over to the tournament desk to collect his receipt worth $26,000.

Donald Bull, looking as serious as he can in the photo below, just took down a healthy pot. We joined the hand late, but were able to catch his 5,000 bet on the river, as he faced off heads up against Richard Book.

The board was showing . With about 15,000 already in the pot, this hand could help increase Donald’s stack to near double what he started with. And that he did! After Richard called the 5,000 Donald flipped his pocket sixes ( ), which was enough to take the pot and pose like a pro.

Gil Levy was riding a short stack since the start of the day, but managed to survive through 100 eliminations and make the final 5 tables. With around 200,000 left he got his chips into the middle from late position against David Guay in the big blind.

As we near the end of level 3 for this evening’s WPTDeepStacks Day 1D event number of players continues to steadily increase, as more and more join us for a shot at the $1,000,000 prize pool.

As we enter level 3, play is starting to heat up, albeit slowly. Over at table 101 we witnessed a battle already underway, this time between Michael Wang and Srinivas Gottiparthi, two poker players who have been getting deep in various WPT events all week here at Playground.

When we arrived there was 5,000 in the pot, with the flop showing . The table checked around, and a was dealt on the flop.

Michael was utg, raising 3,000. Srinivas called, and a was dealt on the river.

Again Michael led out, this time for 5,000. Although he took a couple of minutes to decide, Srinivas decided to make the call. Michael flipped over his and raked in the chips. Apparently his pair of Queens was enough.
