Level 2 at the WPTDeepStacks Day 1C has just got underway. There are now 122 entries. Here are some pics of the players competing in today’s tournament.
We missed the hand that the propelled Mike Leah above and beyond the 1 million chip mark, however some of the chips clearly came from table-mate Nghi Van Tran, whose big stack was cut down to less-than-average.
Mike has now taken over the top spot on the leaderboard, playing roughly 1.1 million as we near the money-bubble.
The Action Clock will be set-up on all remaining tables in 2 eliminations, once the field reaches the final 14 tables.
Andrew Macdonald opened to 13,000 from late position, and Jason James placed a raise to 63,000 from the small blind. Once a 
flop was rolled out, Jason continued with a bet of 50,000, and Andrew went into the tank before announcing he was all-in, covering his opponent.
Jason deliberated for a few minutes before deciding to commit the remainder of his 175,000 stack, and then tabled 
. He needed to connect in order to stay in the tournament, as Andrew flipped over 
, however with no help on the 
turn or 
river, he was eliminated from the field.
Mike Leah opened the action to 15,000 from under the gun, and Shawn Daigle moved all-in for 73,000 next to act. Once play folded around to Nghi Van Tran in the small blind, he bumped it up to 150,000, forcing Mike out of the hand.
Nghi Van tabled 
and was well ahead of Shawn’s 
, especially once a 
flop was rolled out. He jokingly stated that he should’ve just flat-called pre-flop to allow Mike into the hand.
With that pot Nghi Van jumped up above 650,000 in chips, while Shawn placed a few spots shy of the money.
Day 1C of the WPTDeepStacks Event #3 has just kicked off at the Playground Poker Club. It is the third of five WPTDeepStacks flights happening here this week, with Day 1D scheduled to start later today at 6:00pm, and Turbo Day 1E scheduled for tomorrow morning at 10:00am.
Players are starting the day with 30,000 chips and the WPTDeepStacks competitors will play through 12 levels of 40 minutes, with 15 minute breaks occurring after every third level.
This is a multiple re-entry event, and players are permitted one entry and one re-entry per Day 1. Late registration will continue until the beginning of level 10.

Welcome back to the WPT Montreal Main Event, where 130 players remain in the hunt for the Champion’s Trophy and Belt, which is accompanied by a massive $855,000 cash prize. Another 9 levels of play are scheduled for today, with the money-bubble set to happen in the early phase of the day as we are currently only 27 eliminations from the payouts.
David Guay returns as the tournament chip leader after spending most of Day 2 atop the leaderboard. The field is still filled with experienced players from far and wide, and the road to the final table will not be made easy for anyone, however a top 8 finish will earn players a cool 6-figure payday. Day 3 seating assignments as well as starting chip counts can be found here.
Action is about to begin in the tournament hall at Playground Poker Club, alongside the WPTDeepStacks starting flights and High Roller Mega Satellite. The High Roller will kick off a little later today, at 2pm.
