Said was about to claim another victim, but the poker gods intervened. While we were away from the table calculating the chip count, the players returned to the table and David Quang ended up all in against Said.

Said turned over Ace of Spades King of Spades, and David a much weaker King of Clubs Jack of Hearts. Fortunately for David, the board came down with two Jacks giving him trips and doubled him up to just over 5,000,000 chips.

    The battle rages on!

After eight 60-minute levels, Said El-Yousfi continues his strong play and has now taken the chip lead. He currently sits atop the leaderboard with exactly 10,000,000 in chips, just less than 40% of the total amount of chips in play.

Nikola Isaev busted Steven Martin after Steven went all in preflop. After the big stack at the table, Nikola, called, he showed his hand 9 of Spades 6 of Diamonds. Steven’s cards were the King of Spades Queen of Spades. When the flop came down 4 of Hearts 5 of Diamonds 10 of Diamonds, it was looking pretty good for  Steven. But the turn was dealt 2 of Diamonds and the river was an 8 of Diamonds. Nikola’s flush proved to be Steven’s undoing. He finished the tournament  in 18th spot.

Timothy Ulmer was utg + 1 when he raised it 225,000. Said El-Yousfi called. They both checked the turn and river.

Board: 8 of Clubs 8 of Spades 4 of Diamonds 2 of Diamonds Ace of Spades

This was when Said went all in. Timothy used two 30-second time chits thinking about it, and his stack was probably the smallest at the table, around 1,200,000. He decided to call, and that was the last play he would make tonight. He flipped over his pocket 9’s, and Said flipped over an 8-10, making trip-eights.

Timothy had a fantastic tournament though, and congratulations are deserved for a well-played event. He finishes in 7th, taking home $36,300. We’re down to six players!

Playing 7-handed now, Said El-Yousfi raised 275,000 utg. The table folded around to David Quang, who re-raised to 700,000. His chips were barely in the middle when Said shoved. Surprisingly, David didn’t think long about it, and called. Once the hands were flipped over, it wasn’t hard to see why.

David: 10 of Diamonds 10 of Spades

Said: King of Hearts King of Diamonds

Amazingly, both players caught a set as the board came down. Ultimately though, the Kings took it.

Board: King of Spades 4 of Diamonds 9 of Diamonds 10 of Hearts 6 of Diamonds

David isn’t gone by any stretch, but he doubled up Said who is proving to be a very dangerous player.

After fourteen hands of relatively tame back and forth action in which everyone won a little something and no one lost any large hands, we found ourselves face to face with the final table’s second departure.

With the button on seat 3 playing 8-handed, most of the table folded around to Daniel Dubeau in seat 2, who raised it to 240,000. Alexander Wong shoved all in on the button for what looked like 1,100,000. Daniel called with confidence, and both players flipped over their cards.

Daniel: Ace of Spades King of Clubs

Alexander: Ace of Clubs 10 of Spades

The board came down :King of Hearts 2 of Clubs 8 of Hearts Queen of Diamonds 10 of Diamonds, and Alexander made his exi, finishing in 8th place and bagging a prize of $28,300. Congratulations to Alexander on a tournament well played. There now remain only 7 players.
