With a little over 1,500,000, Daniel Le moved all-in from under the gun. Action folded around to big stacked Dave Graham in the big blind, who made the call.

Daniel: Ace of Clubs 9 of Clubs
Dave: Ace of Diamonds 4 of Hearts

Daniel was all set for a double-up, until the river card of the 5 of Clubs Queen of Diamonds 6 of Diamonds 5 of Hearts 4 of Spades board sent him to the rail in 13th place. Daniel collected $11,000 for his deep run.

The two biggest stacks in the WPT500 just collided in a massive pot, creating an overwhelming chip leader.

Trevor Argue opened to 500,000 from under the gun, and Vasilios Gerontakos made the call from the big blind. Both players checked on the Ace of Clubs 5 of Hearts 9 of Clubs flop, and Vasilios lead for 1,200,000 when the 8 of Clubs peeled on the turn. Trevor replied with an all-in for 9,000,000 on the nose, forcing Vasilios into the tank.

Having his opponent just barely covered, Vasilios ended up making the call, only to find out his set of 9 of Hearts 9 of Diamonds was in bad shape versus the set of Ace of Spades Ace of Hearts tabled by Trevor. The Queen of Diamonds was dealt on the river, and Trevor was awarded the nearly 20 million chip pot, putting him far ahead of the field. Vasilios was left with less than 800,000 after the hand.

In an interesting turn of events, Vasilios was dealt Ace of Spades Ace of Hearts a few hands later, and doubled up versus a pair of 9 of Clubs 9 of Diamonds!

In the mean time Fraddy Gonzalez was eliminated in 14th place, cashing $11,000 for his deep run.

The WPT Main Event draws all kinds of players, both amateurs and pros, and everyone has a chance to make it big. Some names are bigger than others however, and table 23 happens to have a few all concentrated together.

Maxime Heroux is one of those players. He won the 2017 $3200 + $300 No Limit WPT Main Event, and also made the final table three additional times over the last two years at various events. He will be one to watch for moving forward.

Also at the table is Ari Engel, currently 12th on the Canada All Time Money List, and with more than twenty five 1st place finishes over the last decade, he a grinder legend that should never be underestimated.

Finally we have Alexandre Lavigne. He final tabled two events back to back right here at Playground Poker Club in the summer of 2014, and he hasn’t slowed down since, finishing in 2nd just two months ago in the $1000 + $100 No Limit Hold’em Bounty event.

Good luck to all the players, and perhaps even more to their opponents.
