When we arrived at the tables, action was on the turn in a heads-up pot between Raphael Duval and Louis-Charles Levros. The board read , and there was a bet of 12,600 sitting in front of Louis-Charles, and a large pile of red 5K chips in front of Raphael – large enough to cover Louis-Charles’ remaining stack.
There was silence at the table, and after a few minutes Louis-Charles looked over at his opponent and asked “want me to call time?”. He then looked at the dealer and called time. The dealer did a count down from 30 seconds, and when time was up he announced that the hand was dead. Louis-Charles moved his cards forward face down, as did Raphael, and the dealer mucked both hands before awarding the pot to Raphael.
Louis-Charles was a little surprised to see the chips being pushed towards his opponent, and when he inquired about it, he realized that action was on him this whole time. He had not seen Raphael’s big bet, and had assumed that action was on his opponent the entire time. He was clearly a little devastated about losing the pot in this way, however given the circumstances the floor had no choice but to award the pot to Raphael, who was the last aggressor in the hand.
