The first 4 levels of play are nearly complete, and players will enjoy a short 15-minute break before resuming action in level 5. We will take this time to publish our first leaderboard of the night, highlighting the current top stacks in play.

Although the number is not quite as high as this afternoon’s monstrous 569 entry field, this evening’s flight is still boasting an impressive count, with now 230 entries registered here in level 3. Players still have over 4 hours to enter (or re-enter), and we can therefore expect this number to remain on a steady climb as the evening rolls on.

The first level has just been completed in Day 1F, and registration has been on a steady climb since the start of the flight, with now 180 players seated at the felts searching for a Day 2 bag.

A handful notables have been spotted in the field, including the likes of Victor Ramdin, Patrick Braga, Tony “GameBoy” To, and Griffin Benger, to name a few.

Registration will remain open until 11:30pm tonight, with a single re-entry permitted for those unfortunate enough to get felted during the first 10 levels of play.

After a massive turnout for Day 1E today, the stage is now set for the penultimate flight to the WPT500 – Day 1F. Cards will be in the air at 6pm sharp, with late registration permitted until the start of level 11. Players are allowed a single re-entry per flight.

This kickoff event in the WPT Montreal 2018 has already seen a combined total of 1,855 entries thus far, with two more flights to go including tonight. The $1,000,000 guarantee will likely be shattered tonight, as the board already shows over 75 players registered before the start of the flight.

After tonight’s flight, players will have a final chance to find a bag for Day 2, with a turbo flight scheduled at 10am tomorrow. This last flight is set to conclude leading into the Day 2 start at 3pm.

    See you on the felts!

The WPT500, Event #1 in the WPT Montreal, is in full swing with 3 online and 4 live starting flights already in the books. Yesterday – the second full day of Live Day 1s in the event – was massive. There were 653 entries spread across Days 1C and 1D. When added to the earlier Day 1s in the tournament, this brings the total number of entries so far to 1,286.

Today is the third full day of starting flights in the event, with Day 1E scheduled to begin at 12:00pm and Day 1F following at 6:00pm. Both flights will play through 16 levels of 30 minutes each, with breaks following every 4th level. Players will start with 30,000 in tournament chips, and every player will be shooting for a coveted spot in Day 2 in the event.

Current chip leader Mike Lafable has set an impressive target – he accumulated a huge stack of 670,000 chips on Day 1B. The chip average, however, is a much more modest 161,000 – definitely within reach. And if you don’t succeed to qualify through either of today’s starting flights – there will be one additional chance in the Turbo Day 1G on Monday at 10:00am. Anyone that really wants to reach Day 2 still has plenty of opportunities to try!

Tournament staff are just making their opening announcements, and will kick off the action in just moments with the famous command to the dealers: Shuffle Up and Deal! And just like that, cards will begin to fly in Day 1E of the WPT500.

Good luck to all of the players in the event today!
