Turbo Day 1G continues to move along at a rapid pace, and the players have just taken their only break of the day following 10 levels of 15 minutes each. During the break we looked for all stacks that were at least double the chip average – and found the following 7 players with over 100K. Kevin Javier is the chip leader at this point, though with the blinds going up so quickly its a very volatile situation.

Mohammed Moayeri was sitting pretty with on a board reading – he had a made straight with a redraw to a baby flush – against an opponent that showed down – two straight draws – but Moayeri had a blocker. No matter: the came on the river, and all Moayeri could do was smile and say, “That’s poker!” He has since been eliminated and re-entered.

The action in the Turbo flight is, if anything, moving faster than predicted, and it’s very busy with 201 entries including 20 re-entries – and another 100 minutes of late registration permitted!

Andrew Dick – better known as Burr – just doubled to over 80K as his pocket held against Trevor Roy’s . The chips were all in preflop, and after the players showed down, the flop was dealt: . Burr noted that the King on the flop gave him a sweat… as the dealer counted down his stack…

Here are some photos taken during level 1 in this turbo Day 1G – level 2 is already more than half-way over! Action is going to be fast and furious, to employ a cliché, throughout the day.

Players have taken their seats and tournament staff have made their opening announcements, and with that Day 1G in the WPT500 has begun. This is the 10th and final starting flight in the WPT500, and as a turbo, there are a couple of changes to the structure. Firstly, blind levels will increase every 15 minutes, and secondly, late registration will be available until the end of level 12 (which is to say until 1:15pm).

The seating draw for Day 2 in the event has already been released, but there are plenty of seats that have been left empty and Day 1G qualifiers will be randomly assigned these seats once the flight has concluded.
