The players are halfway through the WPTDeepStacks Day 1C. They have just wrapped up a 15 minute break and during the stoppage in play, we measured the stacks. It is still a tight race at the top of the leader board, with Evgenii Tsatskin out front with 114,000 chips. The next closest stack is Mark A., whose stack measured 103,000 chips.

The average chip count for the 179 entries that remain is 40,055.

During level 5 action, Sergei Gurin limped in, preflop, with a bet of 300. Kevin MacDonald, Adam Mouyal, and John Pihlak all called. When the dealer revealed a flop , Sergei initiated the betting, wagering 800. John and Kevin called, and Adam quickly folded.

The turn was flipped ; all three players checked. The river was a , and the trio all tapped again. When Sergei turned his cards and revealed trip 4s, Kevin and John tossed in their hands.

The players have just returned from their first 15 minute break of the day, and during the pause in the action  we counted the chips. We discovered a pretty close race. Giancarlo Palleschi has 82,300 chips, more than double the chip average of 32,000, and he holds a tight lead over Shivan Raif Abdine whose stack measures 81,000 chips. There are two more competitors within 5000 chips of the lead.

There are now 140 entries in the WPTDeepStacks Day 1C, including 2 re-entries. The average chip count has increased to 32,000. Level 3 is coming to a conclusion and players will soon be taking a 15 minute break.

Preflop, Ryan Pignatelli raised to 500 from early position.  Israel Pantelon, Eric Tancredi, and Rabeh Ebeed all called.

When the flop came down , Ryan bet 800. Both Israel and Eric folded, and Rabeh called. When the was revealed on the turn, Rabeh wagered 900 and Ryan called.  The was dealt on the river and Rabeh pushed harder, betting 1,400. Ryan called, and Rabeh was forced to reveal his bluff, . Ryan was holding and won the pot with two pair.
