Playing 7-handed now, Said El-Yousfi raised 275,000 utg. The table folded around to David Quang, who re-raised to 700,000. His chips were barely in the middle when Said shoved. Surprisingly, David didn’t think long about it, and called. Once the hands were flipped over, it wasn’t hard to see why.

David: 10 of Diamonds 10 of Spades

Said: King of Hearts King of Diamonds

Amazingly, both players caught a set as the board came down. Ultimately though, the Kings took it.

Board: King of Spades 4 of Diamonds 9 of Diamonds 10 of Hearts 6 of Diamonds

David isn’t gone by any stretch, but he doubled up Said who is proving to be a very dangerous player.

After fourteen hands of relatively tame back and forth action in which everyone won a little something and no one lost any large hands, we found ourselves face to face with the final table’s second departure.

With the button on seat 3 playing 8-handed, most of the table folded around to Daniel Dubeau in seat 2, who raised it to 240,000. Alexander Wong shoved all in on the button for what looked like 1,100,000. Daniel called with confidence, and both players flipped over their cards.

Daniel: Ace of Spades King of Clubs

Alexander: Ace of Clubs 10 of Spades

The board came down :King of Hearts 2 of Clubs 8 of Hearts Queen of Diamonds 10 of Diamonds, and Alexander made his exi, finishing in 8th place and bagging a prize of $28,300. Congratulations to Alexander on a tournament well played. There now remain only 7 players.

After a fantastic tournament, Balakrish Patur’s night is done. It seems he couldn’t quite recover from the huge loss of chips that accompanied his skirmish with Daniel Dubeau.

Board: 3 of Spades 8 of Diamonds Jack of Clubs LQh Queen of Diamonds

He was all in for less than 1,000,000 chips (the average chip stack is almost 3,500,000) with an Ace of Hearts 7 of Hearts, but his opponent had him dominated with an Ace of Diamonds Queen of Clubs.

Congratulations goes out to Balakrish, who takes home a prize of $22,300 for his 9th place finish.

Fresh into the final table, we witnessed a big hand right off the bat.

Although we missed the initial action, it was clear that a huge hand was brewing once we heard Daniel Dubeau’s insta-call of Balakrish Patur’s all in.

Daniel was holding a Ace of Diamonds 5 of Clubs on a 3 of Hearts 4 of Spades Ace of Spades 2 of Hearts 8 of Diamonds board, making the wheel. Balakrish’s Jack of Clubs 9 of Clubs didn’t stand a chance and Daniel’s chip count swelled to near 5,000,000.

NOTE: While this post was being written, Balakrish all-in’d again, this time winning the hand and doubling up the small amount of chips he had left.

The chip leader for much of the day, Muhammad Abdel-Rahim, was ousted in the last hand, ending his day.

He had two hearts in his hand when he saw a 10-4-2 flop with two hearts in it. However, once he was all in against his opponent’s pocket 8’s, he couldn’t find that last heart to make the flush.

We are one elimination away from the final table.
