Bruce Buffer eliminated

Bruce has been on the short stack since the beginning of Day 2, and although he threatened to start re-building his stack early on, nothing really took hold for him and he ended up playing his last 15K or so when the big blind had grown to 1.2K. He was eliminated in 13th position.

Omaha action in one minute

Event 9 of the Playground Poker Spring Classic is about to start. This is a $500 + $50 Pot Limit Omaha “3 Lives” tournament. What’s special about this event is that each player starts with three “life chips” each of which represents 10K in chips. Players can use an extra life chip whenever they like in the first four levels of play. So it someone starts with 10K they can choose to play that and leave 2 lives “behind” – or a different approach would be to cash in all of your life chips at once and start the tournament with 30K.

Shorr takes down another

Sylvain Siebert has been eliminated by Shannon Shorr on an AK vs QQ hand with an Ace on the flop. Shannon chips up to over 250K.

Meanwhile Gavin Smith got it all in holding pocket nines – only to run into pocket aces.

That didn’t take long…

Today the 44 players who returned for Day 3 of the WPT Canadian Spring Championship arrived to play down to 18 players – and they’re just about there after just 3 and two-thirds levels. In theory this sort-of-bubble could take a while to burst, but that hasn’t been our experience in most of the events so far this series, so we can expect to get to 18 before the end of this level (18 mins left).
