Some stacks are starting to build

Day 1c is currently at level 7 (blinds 300/600/a75) and a few players are starting to build some big stacks. There’s still lots of play left tonight – 7 levels after this one – so nothing has been decided. Of the 521 players that started the night, 300 remain.

Some photos of some of the larger stacks in the room (below).

After the first break…

…the total number of players tonight is 521! No more late registrants or alternates are being seated.

So the final tally for the three day ones is 454 + 438 + 521 = 1413! We’ll be able to post full prize details later this evening.

Blinds are now 200/400/a50 and the chip average is 27K.

Update: 1413 players has been announced as the official Playground Poker record for total entrants in a single tournament!

Five Hundred and Fifteen

That’s the number right now, and it’s still going up. Alternates are still being admitted for another 30 minutes or so. Day 1c is proving to be a huge day, and considering that the prize pool already surpassed the guarantee yesterday, Event 1 is clearly going to have an amazing prize pool for a tournament that cost $150 total!

Players are half way through level 4 following which they’ll have a 15 minute break.

Cards are in the air for Day 1c!

Day 1c of Event 1 has just begun and it’s shaping up to be a wild night. The clock just started but there are already 440 players registered. There’s an alternates list and assuming we get a good number of those into the tourney (as we always do), the count tonight could rise to 480+ overall.

1c minus 1h

Event 1’s third Day 1 – Day 1c – gets underway in about an hour and the Club is already jumping. Only about 100 entries are available at this point although we’re sure to seat at least 40 alternates so there’s still a little bit of time to get to Playground and take you shot at a huge prize pool!

Day 1c is underway in 7.5 hours…

It’s just before noon here at Playground Poker and the room is already starting to heat up before tonight’s Day 1c of Event 1. The cage reports that just under 150 entries have already been sold for tonight’s flight – which means Day 1c is on track to reach capacity and get into alternates seating just as Day 1a and 1b did.

By the way, the 892 entries that have already played means that Event 1 has already met the $100K Guarantee we had for this tournament – which is shaping up to have an amazing total prize pool.

See you soon!

Day 1b Photos

Some photos of the action from Day 1b…

Level 9 Update

The second break is over and the players are about 10 minutes into level 9 of 14 to be played today. Blinds are 500/1000/a100 and the average stack is 41.4K. As I cruised the floor before and during the last break I saw a few big stacks around 150K. Check out our Facebook gallery for Day 1b to see some of the bigger stacks.

One player was approaching 200K until he doubled up Trishelle Cannatella just before the break. We missed the action – when we got there Trishelle was in a strong position having called with pocket tens against the big stack’s pocket fives. Her tens held up and she doubled to around 60K while the other player still had well over 140K.

Players have another 5 levels to play and we’ll be posting chip counts.
