Event 9, Day 2 has begun!

Although a lot of attention has been paid to the WPT Canadian Spring Championship and the High Roller event today, we also have Day 2 in the largest Omaha tournament of the festival – Event 9, $500 + $50 Pot Limit Omaha 3 Lives.

Play has started in level 15 (blinds 3K/6K) and though 19 started today, there are 17 players remaining on three 8-handed tables.

7th place goes to Christian Harder

Christian Harder – among the chip leaders for much of the day – has been eliminated from the WPT Canadian Spring Classic in 7th place.

Read the WPT Live Update team’s write-up of the hand.

7th place: Christian Harder, $66,132.00

The final table will begin tomorrow afternoon at 3pm. We’ll be posting final chip counts later tonight. There will be no new seating draw – players will continue in the same relative positions they have been in since the last table began.

The WPT Live team has covered this whole tournament with their usual skill and professionalism, and particularly today with two and then one table their coverage was very detailed. Visit the WPT Live Updates site to read about today’s action (and then come back here!).

8th place goes to Piccioli

Bryan Piccioli is out in 8th place. Just two more eliminations until the Final Table is established.

8th place: Bryan Piccioli, $52,609.00

Event 8, Final Payouts

Rank First Name Last Name Prize
1 Setrak Suloukji $84,686.00 + Championship Belt
2 Hank Sitton $74,686.00
3 Darren Elias $35,987.00
4 John Andress $25,705.00
5 Shannon Shorr $20,564.00
6 Pascal Lefrançois $15,422.00

Note: These payouts reflect a deal that was made with 2 players remaining. The players agreed to set aside and play for $10,000.00 of the prize pool and the Championship Belt and to chop the remaining prize money.

Seto’s the Champion!

After about half-an hour of heads-up play in which Hank Sitton managed to chip up to just about an equal stack with Setrak Suloukji, a hand developed very quickly which saw Hank get it in very good against Seto (as he’s known) only to lose as the board dealt a disaster for Hank.

The players were all in with Ace of Diamonds 10 of Diamonds (for Seto) against Hank’s Ace of Clubs Jack of Diamonds – Seto was dominated. The players were all in preflop and the board ran out King of Hearts 9 of Hearts 6 of Hearts 7 of Hearts 8 of Diamonds – giving Seto the nut straight.

The players had made a deal as heads-up play began to split the remaining prize pool less $10K and the Championship Belt.

In early play at the last table of the WPT Canadian Spring Championship (the “Final Table” is the 6-handed table which will play down tomorrow) two players have been eliminated. First, Brian Beggs was eliminated followed by Daniel Suied about 15 minutes later.
