Level 9 update

The players still have 6 levels to go tonight, but at the beginning of Level 9 there are 233 players remaining and some big stacks are starting to emerge. The chip average is now 39K with blinds at 500/1000/a100, and a quick tour of the room during the last break found one player approaching 150K and several more over 100K.

Level 7 update

The tournament is 15 minutes into Level 7 (Blinds 400/800/a100) and there are 290 players remaining. Chip average is 31.4K (from starting stacks of 20K) and there are a grand total of 9.1M chips in play tonight.

Break #1

It’s the first break and the final count of players today (including alternates) is 454!

After four levels, 373 players remain in the tournament. The average stack is 24.5K and blinds will be 200/400/a50 when players return from the break.

Among the players today are Players Club members Jean-Philippe Piquette and Christopher McClung.

Day 1a of Event 1 of this year’s Playground Poker Spring Classic is set to start in just over 10 minutes! Capacity for each Day 1 of this $135 + $15 Re-entry event is 400 players and over 375 seats have already been sold!

Day 1a: April 23, 2013 7:30pm

Day 1b: April 24, 2013 7:30pm

Day 1c: April 25, 2013 7:30pm

Day 3: April 27, 2013 3:00pm

Starting Stack: 20,000 tournament chips. All players start the tournament with a full stack.

Late Registration: Players may enter the tournament until the first break on any Day 1.

Re-entry: A player may play additional Day 1s even if he/she has survived a previous Day 1. If a player survives more than one Day 1, the player’s smallest stack(s) (by chip count) will be removed from the tournament. Players may not re-enter during any Day 1 they have already played; they may only re-enter the tournament on a subsequent Day 1.

Structure notes:

  • Blind levels: 30 minutes on Day 1, 40 minutes on Day 2, and 50 minutes on Day 3.
  • Day 1 will play for 14 levels.
  • Day 2 will play until 27 players remain.
