Back from dinner

Players are back from their dinner break and the final tally for Day 1a is 194 entries. With Day 1b and Day 1c still to come it’s definitely looking like a great prize pool is being built.

Of the 194 entries today, 150 players are still in the tournament. Players are in level 7 with blinds 250/500/a75.

Dinner break

Level 6 has come and gone and players are now on a 45 minute dinner break. We’ll be back after the break with the final number of entries for Day 1a.

The belt is here!

The Championship belt has arrived, and it looks great! In just days this will be awarded to the winner of the 2013 PartyPoker.net WPT Canadian Spring Championship.

After the first break

Day 1a is almost at the end of level 3 and participation has climbed to 186 entries with 174 still playing today. Registration doesn’t close for another 3 levels so there’s still lots of time to enter.

There are some big names in the field so far. Huck Seed, Mike Sexton, and Phil Laak are both here who are poker’s version of household names. in addition to those guys though there are a whole bunch of lower-profile, very-high-success players in the field like Shannon Shorr, Jeff Gross (3rd in the WPT Montreal), Joe Serock, Matt Jarvis, Mike Leah, Sam Chartier and more.

Playground Poker’s Players Club is very well represented – joining the event in Day 1a are: Anne-Marie Angelil, Ben Leblond, George Cargiorgas, Christopher McClung, Jean-Philippe Piquette, and Chanracy Khun.

Shuffle up and deal!

Mike Sexton and our tournament staff have made some announcements and now cards are in the air in level 1 of the PartyPoker.net WPT Canadian Spring Championship!

There are 140 players on the tables to start with and registration is open until the end of level 6 so that number is sure to climb.

The WPT Canadian Spring Championship is here!
