Some early photos

We’ve added some photos of the early action to an album on the Playground Poker Facebook page.

Two more belts

There’s a belt for the champion of the 2013 WPT Canadian Spring Championship which carries on a tradition we began last spring when two belts were awarded – and both were won by the same player.

Jean-Philippe Piquette is a local poker pro and member of Playground Poker’s Players Club and won the belts for his victories in last spring’s $2200 Deepstack and $10,300 High Roller events. By popular demand, he agreed to play today wearing both of the belts!

…To shuffle up and deal! Bruce Buffer got the proceedings started with a bang and over 200 players have taken their seats at the start of level 1. Registration is open until the end of the break following level 6, so today promises to be an action-packed day.

The clock has stopped…

And the remaining tables are playing their last few hands. The TD announced five more hands, which should be finishing momentarily and then players will bag their chips. We’ll be posting chip counts soon after that.
