Round 1 of Event 2 – No Limit Hold’em Shootout – has been completed, and we now have our final table of 10 players! Here they are:
Best of luck to our ten finalists!
Event 2, our $135 + $15 No Limit Hold’em Shootout, is nearing it’s final table, as only a few tables remain in action, most of which are 3 handed or less.
Here are a few photos from the end of Round 1:
The Shootout tournament is now in level 14 and the first table has played down to a victor who qualifies for the Final Table. The first winner was Johnny Benehoutsos, who won Table 26. That being said, there is still one table with 5 players remaining and two more with 4 each, so there’s still some play left in the first round.

The players in the Shootout tournament are now on a break after level 11 and as the blinds are (of course) constantly rising, some of the tables are getting pretty close to a conclusion.
It’s worth remembering that the blinds for the final round will start at the level they were at when the first table is finished in this round. So although everyone at the final table will start with 20K in chips, whether or not that is deep depends on when they finish the first round.

Round 1 of Event 2 is underway, which is a Shootout format. There are 10 tables of 10 players, and the winner of each table moves on to the final table, at which point everyone will be in the money.
Here is an album of photos from Round 1:
In 2 hours, Event 2, a $135 + $15 No Limit Hold’em Shootout tournament is set to begin. Although we work hard to make sure that all events in a series are fun for players, a Shootout event is always one with EXTRA Fun injected.
Unlike a regular freezeout tournament in which the whole field is competing against the whole rest of the field, in a Shootout tournament when you start, you’re only competing with the players on your starting table – and to progress to the money, you have to WIN your table.
There is a hard cap of 100 participants (10 tables) in the Shootout, which gets going at 5pm tonight.
