There are now just 14 players remaining in today’s $125 Bounty tournament and Peter Shaw – a well-known figure in local tournaments – has sped into first place with 217K in chips. The pace of the tournament has started to slow somewhat, but the pressure of the blinds is incessantly growing, so no one can stand pat for long!

There were 59 players in the $90 + $10 + $25 NL Hold’em Bounty tournament, adding up to a traditional prize pool of $5,150.00 while another $1,475 was represented by player Bounty chips. The traditional payouts will be made according to the following table, while bounty chips are distributed one-by-one from a player to the one who eliminated him or her.

The players in the Bounty tourney today are taking their second break of the day and though 8 levels have been played, only a single player has managed to accumulate a dominating stack. Yves Plante is now playing over 110,000 in chips, while the second-place player at the moment is Hrair Yapoudjian with 72,600. The latter number is still impressive – but Yves has a lock on the current leaderboard as the tournament resumes on 3 tables.
The players are taking their first break of the day and though it won’t break any records, attendance did grow to 59 players as the end of late registration approaches.

Today’s Bounty tournament is starting earlier than usual weekday tournaments, so players are joining in a little more slowly than usual, but as Noon and the end of Late Reg approaches the numbers should grow by a lot, and quickly. For now, there are 19 players at the tables and through Level 1 and some of level 2, no bounties have yet changed hands.
The two final tournaments being hosted to help celebrate the Playground Poker Club 7 Year Anniversary are both Bounty tournaments. Starting at 11am today is a $90 + $10 + $25 NL Hold’em Bounty and then tonight at 7:00pm is a fantastic $150 + $30 + $150 NL Hold’em 6-Max 50/50 Bounty event.
The daytime event has a $5,000 prize pool guarantee (including bounty chips, as always) and players will start with 20K in chips and play through 20 minute levels all the way to the end of the tournament later this evening. This is a time-honoured format that has always been popular at Playground Poker Club and goes back to the very founding days here at Playground. In fact, the very first event with this format was held here on January 31st, 2010.
Action gets underway at 11:00am and registration will be open until 12:30pm so there’s plenty of time for late-comers to join in the event.
