The 2nd break is now behind us, and with it 8 of the 14 levels that will be played today. Michel Lacasse, Denis Cyr, Thomas Lefort and Pascal Monarque have breached the 200K mark, and are now in a good spot to play all 14 levels today.

The final number of entries for Day 1A is 128, made up of 108 single players and 20 re-entries, some of which appear on our actual top ten:

There is 1 more level to play before the second break and the end of the registration period. 85 players are still in the field, from 118 entries so far.

Cristian Muset got himself a nice 100K stack, and was using those chips merrily. He put a lot of pressure on Martin Dej in hand that saw Cristian put Martin all-in on the river. Martin thought for a while, and decided to commit his remaining 25K chip to the pot.

Cristian Muset: Queen of Hearts Jack of Diamonds
Martin Dej: King of Hearts Queen of Spades

Board: Queen of Diamonds 3 of Spades 9 of Clubs 4 of Spades 9 of Spades

Martin made the right call, not an easy one with just a top pair, and survives to see another hand.

Players in Day 1A of the PG500 just took a short break, during which we scouted the room for the good looking stacks. Here is the top of the leaderboard:

First Name | PrénomLast Name | NomStack | Tapis

Michel Lacasse, who was in the lead 1 level ago, is still healthy, but dropped a few positions. Kevin Macdonald took out Todd Desbiens in the last few hands, zooming to the top positions in the process.

Kevin Macdonald: King of Spades Queen of Spades
Todd Desbiens: 8 of Hearts 6 of Hearts

Board: 4 of Spades Queen of Hearts 10 of Hearts Jack of Clubs 8 of Spades

Macdonald made a tough call on the turn, after Desbiens went all-in for 35K into a pot less than half that size.

Michel Lacasse has been doing well in the first segment of Day 1A, and he just added to his holdings by taking out the Grey Wolfe. The latter had shoved his short stacked on one of the previous hands, and did it again after Lacasse made it 1,500 to go on a 500 blind. Lacasse called.

Michel Lacasse: King of Hearts King of Spades
Grey Wolfe: Ace of Spades Jack of Spades

Board: Queen of Spades 6 of Hearts 9 of Diamonds 2 of Hearts 9 of Hearts
