The first event in the Playground Poker Club 7 Year Anniversary celebration has concluded and the final 6 survivors were:

This is a Survivor event, so there isn’t a “normal” final table (in the sense that 10 people will play down to 1 champion) – but nevertheless, there are just 10 players remaining and they have congregated around a single table to play down to the 6 final players who will cash in the event. The way things have been going this afternoon, the identities of our 6 Survivors should be finalized before very long at all.
Registration has closed in the Survivor event and a total of 56 players joined the event today. There are still 54 of those players still at the tables and play will continue until 6 players will remain. Each of those players will earn $815.00 for their efforts today!

There are 46 players in today’s Survivor event and another 30 minutes left for players to join the action – we anticipate quite a few players will arrive towards the end of late registration.

Today’s kickoff event in the 7 Year Anniversary celebrations here at Playground Poker Club is a $90 + $10 NL Hold’em Survivor tournament. It’s a sunny and cold December day in the Montreal area – a perfect day to spend inside at the poker table!
The Survivor format has quickly become a favourite event in Playground Poker Club’s festival schedules. The format is a little bit different than a regular poker tournament: instead of playing down to a single winner, play continues until 10% of the field remains – at which time play is halted and everyone still in the event gets an even share of the prize pool!
In a way, it’s similar to a satellite tourney – except that the prize at the end is cash!
A Survivor event such as this one will give the winners a very nice prize at the end of the night – and because play doesn’t continue through the bubble, the pace of the event – and its finishing time – is sure to be very appealing as well.
Registration today is open until the end of the break following level 4, meaning that you can join the event any time until 1:30pm.
