At the start of level 6, 72 players joined in the $1,000 + $100 WCC Warm-Up, and 14 re-entries were completed. With 86 total entries and only 1 more level to go before registration closes, the Event’s prize pool is approaching the guarantee, but it looks like we will come a little short, so jump right in! Blinds resume at 250/500/a75, or 60 big blinds on the starting stack!

Note that Jonathan Bussières, our Million North America runner-up ($693,950.00) is among us. Back in May, Bussières played his friend Jean-Pascal Savard heads-up for the title of the Million North America, our Spring Classic Main Event. He did not succeed in claiming that title, but nevertheless went home with almost 700K, a very sexy consolation prize! He is now back on the Playground felts for more fortune and glory.

The field in the World Cup of Cards Warm-Up has now grown to 72 entries, including 5 re-entries. There is a little over 2 hours left to the registration period, during which players may also re-enter, should they fall on the wrong side of their luck.

Players are resuming play after their first break of the day, during which we identified those who kicked off in high gear. Carter Swidler, a well-known local, managed to claim quite a few pots in the early levels, building a 77K stack. The pole position belongs to Benoit Lord, who sits on 83K.

At the end of the next break, we will be able to publish a detailed leaderboard, along with the attendance and prize pool information. The Event still has an overlay flavor, as 28 more entries are needed to meet the guarantee. For now, here is a look at our early top 4:

Players are now entering level 3 of 15 in Day 1 of the WCC Warm-up $1,000 + $100 Event. After one and a half hours of play, only 51 entries have been compiled, including 2 re-entries. Players may enter or re-enter for another 4 levels, but the pace of registration has slowed down. 2 players were waiting to start a table, but had to be moved to existing tables for lack of immediate entries.

All this to say that the Event may very well end up providing unbelievable value in the form of a massive overlay. Here are some early shots of players who jumped in the action during the first 2 levels. Come join them!

The $1,000 + $100 WCC Warm-up started with a bit of a delay, as we needed 5 players to start the first table. The Event is now on the wheels, with 27 players at the tables. There is one word on everybody’s lips: Overlay. The $100,000 guarantee is creating palpable effervescence.

Calculating tournament players know that the increased value offered by overlays is a great way to boost their own expected value. We don’t know for sure, as there are 4 hours of late registration ahead of us, but this Event looks like it will provide quite a bit of that sweet overlay value. So come claim your share of it!

The biggest Event of this edition of the Playground Poker Power Weekends is a $1,000 + $100 Event with re-entries. The WCC being our next big series, we call this Event the World Cup of Cards warm-up. Players start with 30 000 in chips, and will play 15 levels of 45 minute today.

There is a $100,000 guarantee, enough to cover for 100 players. 9 players have showed up so far, and late registration is open for the first 6 levels, or 4 hours of play, leaving plenty of time for you to jump in this high-guarantee tournament and take advantage of the amazing value that the Event is shaping up to offer!
