The $200 + $20 NL Hold’em 8-Max was the closing event to the Playground Power Weekend, and attracted 124 runners to create a prize-pool of $24,056. Originally only the top 13 were scheduled to receive a payout, however when play reached the bubble the remaining players agreed to pay a 14th spot.
The final table took off right away, and within only a few hands we saw the eliminations of Niki Vassilev, Jean-Francois Stoycheff, Andy Carriere and Michel Bergeron before the final 5 paused the clock to negotiate a deal.
Maurice Simard was the chip leader at the time, and asked for $4,000, while slightly-shorter stack Jean-Philippe Tremblay asked for $3,800. The 3 other players (Tommy Inthouray, Pavel Covaliov and George) agreed to these figures, and split the rest of the money between them, locking in $3,372 each and bringing an end to the tournament.
Congratulations!
